Any suggestions on ND filters? Can anyone suggest something quality but not $300. I have to wait until 10 minutes before dark to practice these shots. I want to be able to shoot them during the day to get background objects clear also. I would like to do some sport(golf swings),bike riders and skater stuff.

My only suggestion is to get the square kind of ND filter so you can use it on any lens.

At least Pittsburgh has a camera store.

J....if all your lens threads are the are the same mm, buy a good ND. I use to use a bellows lens hood with my blads. Very easy to drop gels in. Also when your main light is actually your backlight source...lol, you can slide the hood out to cut ANY flare or retract when needed.
Using the ND's during bright lit situations is the only way to enable "dragging the shutter" ...that's after already dropping the ISO. You may not need the variety pack but at least 4 stops+.

I will look at those. I want something nice but not crazy expensive. Curious about what stop I should get also.

Worst senerio is shooting in bright sunlight...even when cloudy/bright of flat shade (100 iso) ...stopped down to f22 would put you around 1/8 sec...still too fast to get the motion your looking for. +3 or +4 will work in those situations.

Thanks @ all!

I currrently have 3 lenses that are all 52mm so that is a bonus. Looking at 85mm f1.8 or 1.4 now.

Greg, the light source is backlighting from the west setting sun, correct. Makes it even harder! It is fun and relaxing though. That specific area has some nice opportunities for pics but I have no time to hit it when the sun is rising.

There are some nice areas in the woods with springs, and streams that I want to mess around with. This time of year there are a lot of them that are actually flowing. I think it will be easier when the foliage grows in some but then they all dry up,haha.
