here's my rookie attempt of the moon shots.  They're not as clear as I wanted but I was fighting clouds and Chicago light pollution.

It was tough trying to find a spot to see it amidst the apartment buildings and we have a gigantic maple tree in our backyard that blocked any view from my balcony most the evening.  I was shocked at how fast it moved, I did a 30 second exposure and there was so much movement in the photo.  Definitely a sky shooting learning experience for me, not one of my fortes.  
 
I tried your suggestion with the multiply layer, but it made it really dark.  I ended up just playing with the levels a little, and adjusting the shadows and highlights of the raw file before opening it in PS.

Imgur images work here, mine are hosted on them.
 
When your image is uploaded to Imgur, click on it and then copy the 'Direct Link' and then paste that into the 'Image' thingo (;p) on this site.

this is the lake I was camping on a couple weeks ago.  I have a ton of shots from the nature, but I've been so busy with other photo work that I haven't had much time to check them out... even editing this was procrastination from editing wedding photos. bleh.
