Shaka, brah! Okay, Pinoy, now who's makin' who hungry!
I'll take those dishes over mine any day!
Have fun with your plants!

Bummer. I'll bet the stores get there cinders there.
How far to your dead volcano?
The cinders don't have to be fresh ;)

Luau everyday ;)

50mins flight, and my gf told me that its not allowed to take volcano rocks, they say its bad luck

I don't think you'd want to pay the baggage fees on fifty pounds of rocks. Added to the cost of the original airfare, probably cheaper to buy them in the first place...As for bad luck, I figure if Pele threw them outside the volcano, she probably didn't want them in the first place...

Yep, I think 1bag is like $5 to $6

Those seedlings look great, Pinoy!
a little sun and dry weather and tender loving care
and they will be lush and happy and pumping out pods!

That starter kit is something else. Looks like a great system!
I may have to check those out.

Good growin', my friend! Have fun working those bags of stuff
into your garden!

Your plants look amazing.. the ones in the white containers will bounce back. I have complete faith in your growing powers.. ahahaaa GL

Amazing stuff Pinoy! Great looking chiles and aerogarden. Are you going to rent a roto-tiller to plow up your backyard garden or do it by hand? If by hand, get yourself a pick and have your dad show how to use it. It's a heavy tool, but it needs to be to break up heavy soils so it can be shoveled up easily. You just need to know how to swing one for extended periods to avoid messing up your body.

Good advice. Tote that barge, lift that bale!
i like to use a spading fork, sort of like a pitchfork on steroids - four heavy tines.
It breaks up heavy soil easily. In a small area pretty efficient.

@Rick - still haven't out how to swing a pick without bustin' my heine ;)

Thanks for the great pod pics, Pinoy. Cool to see what some of my
peppers might look like someday!

You Sadist! I never knew how much I missed it until you showed it to us! :drooling: Seriously, it looks very good. Where do you get it?
There's a trick to using a "Pulaski"... I learned how from my Dad. You have to start your swing at waist height, then bring it back, up and around and down with just enough muscle to guide it to the target. If you try to do it by pure muscle you'll tire very quickly.
How big is the area you're going to amend? I used 3 cubic yards of humus for a fifteen by twenty foot plot. You can deduct the volume of the cinders from that, but three cubic yards is still eighty one cubic feet. Rather than buy bales of coir or peat moss... do you know anybody who runs livestock nearby? Composted cow or horse manure does the same job cheaper if you can get a truck to haul it and you shovel it yourself. That's what I do.

the hawaiian red chili toffee they sell it in big island but for some reason down here at oahu at alamoana mall my gf and i was walking and she saw the store of hawaiian cookies from big island and i saw this so i bought one right away its expensive $11.50 before tax, if u buy it in big island its more cheaper,
i have to measure it later but i think its 5yards long and 3feet wide...big trucks cant get inside our subdivision its to tight for them to maneuver, my dad wasn't thinking when he filled up the backyard with clay soil he never amend it just pure clay soil so in time the clay got hard

Ooooh, that Hawaiian Red Chili Toffee sounds amazing! Toffee is my favorite kind of candy, and to mix that with chiles, I don't think it could get any better than that!!! At Christmas I made a candy recipe that combined pistachios and pumpkin seeds with dark chocolate and chile powder. I liked it, but some of my family thought it was an odd combination. This year, I'm definitely going to make some sweet/spicy nuts, but now I'm thinking I should try to make something like what you've found there.

Oh, and BTW, thanks for changing your glog name. Now I can find you : )

Pinoy, your grow log made me hungry  Great lookin plants.
