Keeping my fingers crossed for your babies... glad to see you're back in the saddle again and growing more chiles.

How do you get the molten sugar to extrude in sheets like that?

thanks, yea trying not to germinate lots of seeds,

well we boil the sugar to 200degrees, and when the temp goes down were we can touch it by hand that's when we start shaping them, its super freaking hot i already got blisters in my first week, but hard work pays off after we finish our center piece,

my babies getting afternoon sun, taking advantage of holiday so i can care for them even for one day...

very nice start Pinoy, and your food looks so delicious. That is a beautiful place to go to work everyday. But then again its Hawaii.

What's so great about your pics, besides the fact that they look five star, is that I can almost taste them. Like that masala. Wowwww.

Here's some info from University of California at Davis that might help...

http://www.ipm.ucdavis.edu/PMG/PESTNOTES/pn7401.html

I've heard that reflective plastic mulch is helpful in controlling thrips, mites and whiteflies because they like to hide on the shaded, underside of the leaves on infested plants, and the mulch reflects sunlight from the ground back up into the leaf canopy illuminating the place where they like to hide. Since they can't tell where the underside of the leaves are, they move on. This has the advantage of increasing the amount of light on the leaves of the plant, but the disadvantage of cooling the soil under the mulch. That wouldn't be a problem where you are I think, because it's so warm year 'round.

They also mention that infestations of whiteflies usually occur where there's a lack of a native population of insect predators. The predators could have been wiped out by spraying of broad-spectrum insecticides or inclement weather conditions, or the pests could have been introduced into an area where the predators aren't normally present, like greenhouses or islands with no natural predator populations. If you're allowed, it might be a good idea to get some lacewings or ladybugs and release them in your garden to hunt down the whiteflies.

Vacuuming the whiteflies off the plants or spraying with insecticidal soap work too, but are labor-intensive, and I don't think you have much free time at the moment, no?

Hope this helps...
