Can't be that heavy it's basswood. I bet it's the shape and it feels like it's dumping on the right?

Alright, the numbers are in. My EX-400BD has a mahogany body and is exactly 8 pounds. Pretty light for an Explorer body style. My new EC-10... 9.6 pounds! That is 1/5 more, so it is quite noticeable.

Thanks. Got a few more that I couldn't fit on that wall  ;)
Gotta love vintage Guild guitars, they've really become my favourite go-to guitar.

Is the EX chambered?

Met up with a couple guys in hopes of a little spontaneity. Hung around for a bit getting ignored, tried to help when they couldn't figure out how to tune to drop C to play a Godsmack song, bailed when I was still ignored.

It's OK, I would have felt bad making them look/sound bad with my ability to tune my own guitar.

Pretty sad since they are the premiere band in the area.

Anyone up for a THP band?

What Godsmack song? Most of their stuff I know is in drop D.

A THP would be interesting but the logistics would be a little tough.

A Carvin CT624

I love my carvins!!! Great guitars and there all custom to your spec :-)

I hate floyd rose trems though, only fixed bridges for me. On my strats I block the trem.
Bonamassa rockin hard and heavy on a baritone :-)

I picked up a DiMarzio Evo 2 for the bridge in my new ESP/LTD EC-10 the other day while in Billings. $59.99! A steal! Very middy, which is exactly what I wanted. It loves drop tunings, which is also what I wanted. I am currently tuned to drop B. Very tight pickup. Unforgiving. Not super hot, but I run it through a Bugera 6262, so I have plenty of umph.

Sweet. Guitar porn!. Heres some of my babies.

The Red Hot Chilli Peppers would probably sue you for it ;-) lol
Is that Fender Hot Rod De-Ville the 4-10 model? I had one of those once. Super sexy amp!

I've got a Blues DeVille, and it's a 4x10....I think the Hot Rod DeVille comes in both 2x12 and 4x10 options. That one looks like a 4x10 from the shape.

The Blues DeVille is a monster - I typically play between 1-1.5 or it starts to shake the windows. 100W is way too much for a practice amp.

Here's my newest main axe - 2014 Gibson 1954 Custom Shop Historic Reissue Goldtop.

I love it.  I typically play my Casino or Jazzmaster, but this one just feels nice and the sound is great.

Sweet guitar - what's your address? No reason, just curious...

That is what I am thinking. The boxy shape says it is the 4-10 to me, but I am on my cell, so who knows. I really miss that amp. Had to sell it when I moved to the lower 48.

Yeah its a 4x10. Friggin amp is a tone monster, I use it for all my funk and blues playing mainly but it is an awwsome clean platform for running pedals for metal. I would never sell it. Bought it when they first came out 15-20yrs ago :-). I love 6l6 tubes, cant stand EL34s, I put winged c 6l6s in all my amps.

I noticed that about mine as well. It took pedals beautifully! Those 10s are definitely a lot brighter and seem to rebound a bit quicker than the 12s I normally run. And I agree with 6L6s over EL34s. Never was a fan of that Marshall-esque tone.

10" are tighter but I use my mesa cab with it alot. I have 2 V30s and 2 g12t-75s in an x pattern in it, so much more depth. I did the same on my VHT 2x12, 1 V30 and 1 g12t-75. That combo of speakers is so balanced.
