1/23/12 After 3 days of neglect while I was out of town. Tray sat on a table near south facing window. Not what they needed but it kept them alive. I used my 15 minutes of free time for the week and hung a light for them.

Hey, pr0d, your plants are really looking good!
Love those big, green leaves! The choco 7 is a great photo!

Thanks Paul.... I'm enjoying watching how different plants in the same species have different leaves.

Those plants are looking... "Bud-tastic"

Have fun planting those babies outdoors..............huge leaves on those mama's

Greg

Leaves are getting large on them for sure. I notice the top portion of the main stem is getting thicker than the bottom on a few of them. The canopy is blocking a lot of the light, and also getting condensation between leaves. This has caused some mild Burns on some of the leaves. They have been getting a daily rotation and 6 hours of fan time. You were a huge help to me this winter and I can't really repay you. I'm sure seeing people succeed from your guidance is reward enough.

Off topic shots...

Anyone have experience with asparagus? 2 or 3 years before I can harvest this stuff?
2012-04-10_18-42-54_727.jpg

Man i just caught up. Things are lookin awesome!!! The dollar bill is a good call. Lets us know just how freakin green those little things are lookin! Sick! Pretty crazy how bad you can neglect these things and how fast the pop back!

With asparagus it's 2 to 3 years when you get the roots, planting by seed takes longer, I believe, but I'm not sure how much. Those look good, but if you really want to get some good spears in the next few years get a bundle of the roots - you should be able to find them at garden stores right around now. Mine are a year old (I bought a dozen) and I have just a couple that I could eat this year, though I won't, I'll let them continue to grow.

That tomato looks great - what kind is it?

I have seen the root stock for sale. I might opt for that. I like eating them when they are young and pencil thin.

My girlfriend started the seeds... I am not sure what kind they are, but they are taking up way too much space.

Maybe I lied about not updating til plant out. A lot of my plants need potted up so bad. They haven't grown in a Weeks. Some of the will get it this weekend, the others are going to have to stay stunted for a month.

Anyone grown Bird Dung? Slowest growing annuum I have grown. Neat plant that branches everywhere. I have never seen leaves naturally dark green like these. They are really fuzzy when they are young also.

Praetermissum? This thing isn't branching at all. The stem is thicker than a #2 pencil and stiff as a 2x4. Not really sure how these are supposed to grow. Any details would be appreciated.

Great pics Prod! Glad you decided to update. What are the two pics after the praetermissum?

Mutualism... Now if I can only get my Co-workers to adopt this.

Is this fert burn? I have this on a couple leaves of 2 stubborn plants. It isn't pest related. Pic makes it look like munching but it is under curling a bit and also alittle crispy. I have never fed stronger than 1/4 strength and I give them trace nutes also. I haven't fed then in Weeks to slow them down and this comes up.

This is on them also. Scotch bonnet plant has been giving me grief since it sprouted.I was thinking that the moisture from the leaves touching along with hid lighting was causing the spots. Now I'm leaning towards some sort of fert burn or something. I had someone plant sit a couple Weeks ago and this has been happening now. Same person said that they didn't water them but 7 of the pots weighed a ton and the new growth was neon green. #@#*$#* !!!!!!!!!

I got Burn marks on some of my plants from when i watered mid day and the water spots on the leaves got burned. Is it possible that this happened to your plants?

Cool looking plants.........I wouldn't worry about the spots on the leaves. Some look like lamp burn and the others can be a deformity or slight chemical burn....no big deal.
The pepper plants are starting to bud nicely. The tomato plants are crusing right along with the flowers.
Salsa in the near future?
Not sure about the tall pepper plant. Its not putting out leaf sets but is laddering with individual leaves. It should branch out at the top soon.

Have fun it looks like your getting some nice weather!

Greg

Plants are looking great Prod! Just for the record I have stepped in burd dung just never grown it.

That does look like fert burn but like bee said it could be sunburn. I wouldn't worry about it .

Plant will usually fix itself.

Hey Greg. Great minds think alike:) What he said :P

Very nice looking plants. I occasionally get leaves with random holes or chunks missing, I think its just a deformity that occurs as they begin growing and nothing to worry about.

Yes I am updating again even though I said I wouldn't. It was nice out and I had a few extra minutes to lax.
My chinense are all flowering. The flowers seem to be small though and taking awhile to see if they pollinated or not.

With what I have learned I will be starting seeds way later next year. Atleast a month. Thanks to the people that comment here and to those of you who put up with my questions. You are helping me but also helping others that I pass your knowledge too.

Good stuff! Mine are still dropping right after flowering for the most part...but I have a few setting. Fingers crossed for you my friend! Sure you'll get a couple pods with all those flowers.

Man your plants look rightous! My supers are doing about the same thing with there flower we will see if they take or not. Your 7pot Congos look like there gonna pod for sure. Non of my dropped flowers have been looking that developed.

Thanks guys. These plants are still indoors so not expecting too much as far as fruit set. They get pounded with fan 6 hours a day so that might be helping. Shouldn't be too long and they will be in the ground.

wow, 6 hours with the fan... nice, this explains the tree trunks you develop. That has to be one big change I will do next year when I start out - much more use of the fan.
