Placed on my heated bathroom floor tile... Wait shouldn't this be in the ghetto grow thread?

1/23/12 After 3 days of neglect while I was out of town. Tray sat on a table near south facing window. Not what they needed but it kept them alive. I used my 15 minutes of free time for the week and hung a light for them.

wow, 6 hours with the fan... nice, this explains the tree trunks you develop. That has to be one big change I will do next year when I start out - much more use of the fan.
I just run my fan with the light cycle on the same timer...more watering that way though.

See you guys are working through a cold snap. Glad your little ones are safe and sound inside under the lights!

I run two box fans on highest setting only a couple feet away from the plants. I wish I would have ran them more early on. It helps make them stronger but it also helps with edema and humidity. In tight quarters my leaves get wet spots where they lay on each other and with hid lighting it can burn the foliage. The fans also help keep them dry and no burning.

This is on them also. Scotch bonnet plant has been giving me grief since it sprouted.I was thinking that the moisture from the leaves touching along with hid lighting was causing the spots. Now I'm leaning towards some sort of fert burn or something. I had someone plant sit a couple Weeks ago and this has been happening now. Same person said that they didn't water them but 7 of the pots weighed a ton and the new growth was neon green. #@#*$#* !!!!!!!!!

This sure looks a lot like whats happening on some of my plants indoors inside a flood and drain system. I never get water on the leaves but still manage to get similar spots. At first they are not gray, only transparent. Then after a while it becomes gray and dry looking. I see you mentioned fert burn, I will look into that. Might be my problem too :)

How is that specific plant doing now though? Not occurring anymore?

Slashroot.... This is just my uneducated opinion. I think that light burn is more translucent and then turns a crispy white. Fert burn seems to be tan with a darker perimeter. Edges of leaves turn brown or dark grey and eventually crispy.. Newer leaves kink and grow funky like they are lacking calcium or trace elements. It's easy to see why people throw gas on the fire. That plant is doing OK. It has been a finicky prick since it popped up. Good luck

You're right about what fert burn normally looks like. You just gave me the idea of checking up my nutes even thought it doesn't look like the normal case of fert burn.

I am pushing my hydro plants to the limit I think, just following something called lucas formula which is EC of 2000. Just been following that formula blindly without thinking much about it. Might be too strong!

My guesses are no more educated than yours hehe

Could be just a touch of fert burn. my Fert burn looks about the same as that it just took out a bigger area. My plants seem to be just fine afterwards though. Im sure with that small amount of damage its no problem. Is that leave also on the scotch bonnet?

Hey Bee.... That is on a yellow 7 pot. The fert burn was minor... No lost leaves or anything . There is a wealth of knowledge here but sometimes that is a bad thing. Paralysis by Analysis! A wise man learns from a fools mistakes, and a fool learns from his own. It only takes one lapse in judgement and things can go wrong. I am the guy who checks the Ph of purified water 5 times in a row, but also the guy who may put that one last drop of ferts for good measure. Have a good day mate and thanks for stopping by.

Starting to get some pods on my "supers".... A lot of them are getting to this stage and falling. Not super concerned but I need to some time to get them in their final resting spot. Douglah.....

Man Prod, your plants are WAY ahead of the game. You should have a pretty long and awesome season. I guess they will fruit before the hardcore summer heat sets in and then later? I'm not too sure what the optimal temp is for fruit set, but I believe I have read high heat leads to flower drop. I'll be watching to see how you yield. Looks good.

Next year I am timing it way better so they go out when they are ready. I am new to this so I jumped the gun alittle. There is so much conflicting info about the flower drop. It's early for me to stress about it..... Pest on the other hand have me on edge. Thanks for stopping by.

Tell me about it. Found aphids on my babies when planting out. They showed up in a matter of two days farmed by the evil ant empire. Who knows what else is coming to get them...

Ah man cant wait till i start getting super pods!! awesome congrats man. What annum is that you got crankin there?

The big one is an inferno hot. I usually plant a bunch of them but this year only one. I like eating the annuum, frut, and baccs. My supers will be for powders and to give away to folks here. I can eat parts of them with food but not man enough to eat full pods.

Too smart to eat full pods would be more accurate. Looking great! Not too far from PA plant out!!!
Plant out is close. I could do it today and be fine. I not sold on toughening them up in cold and rain though.

Plants and pods are looking sweet. You sure you have only been growing a short bit ;)

:drooling:

Yes very new to growing stuff from seed. I just try to keep it basic and not worry about tweeking things that are already working.

Same here on waiting until after the rain this week to plant out. Pods look nice. I have been plucking flower buds off my Nards and some crosses I have going.
