Professional football

like TB said..."how 'bout them cowboys"...

are the bags getting ready to come back out for the Aints? poor ol' New Orleans...Atlanta may be for real this year...

I am curious as to how the rest of the U.S. sees Ben Roethlisberger. Living here in Pittsburgh I am sure it is quite different than living anywhere else and looking at him. Do sports newscasters else where think that Roger Goodell has been fair in the suspension of Ben and the lack of suspensions else where? Or does the topic of players like Donte Stallworth, Vince Young, and Santonio Holmes, just to name a few, not even come up in other cities sports casts? You know people who have actually been convicted of crimes and never been suspended for a game.

Interesting topic Mesatrin. And good points on those three, seems like a double standard. Realize Ben hasn't been convicted, but.... I don't know, this is like the third time he's been accused of this sorta thing? I know these guys can be target$ for these sorta things, but from all the info that's out there, kinda seems like a pattern is developing.

It'll probably blow over. (Just ask Kobe) I used to kinda admire Ben. Remember watchin him get drafted, all that stuff. I actually put him below Vick these days in terms of character. At least Vick did his time. Ben seems to be skating. And convicted or not, IMO a rapist is always worse than a dog killer.

I agree with that last point Boutros, and I live sorta near Milledgeville where the incident occured, so my opinion may be skewed, but just think if that was your college aged daughter. I'm sorta hoping ben drives his bike into another car!

So, it seems from the few responses that, out side of Pittsburgh he is seen as the new villain of the NFL and some type of sexual deviant.
Around here they play it as if something illegal happened charges would have been pressed and evidence would have been found. I know that is not always the case especially when some one has money. But having money can also make you an easy target especially when you are doing something that you should not be already (like taking a 20 year old to a bar).

But either way it has not effected the Steeler's start that much yet. They have been doing better than most people ever would have expected given the QB situation that has gone on. The D has really stepped it up especially with the poor performances and all the 4th quarter let downs they had last season. This game against Baltimore should be a good one, and the Steelers might get lucky again with Ray Rice possibly not playing.

I was hoping that the Steelers would do the right thing and fire him.
Our defense is solid, and we could have signed Tebow or someone who's not groping girls in filthy bar bathrooms.

McNabb week is such a joke  makes for good theater

Do you expect to get booed when you take the field on Sunday?

Wish I would have, love the Herd- SD's ESPN radio is down now though, been for like a month. Sucks. All I get for sports talk radio now is two local stations. Nothin' but hours and hours of local coverage- whining about the Padres and Chargers.

Here's some news. Lovie Smith consoling losing quarterback after Monday night win by Chicago Bears. You got to love a good rivalry, and you've got to love it even more when the Bears beat that team from up north.

Wut? I don't gotta love it more! No can do! Congrats to you though for getting the win. But Green Bay killed themselves with seventeen penalties. I feel a little cheated. From my own team that is. I hope Fatty McDonut can get em to clean up that sloppy sloppy crap. And maybe figure out a way to get a run game going.
