Purple Thunder / Bhut Jolokia x (PdN x Bonda Ma Jacques)

I have decided to start a dedicated Grow Log for
the Purple Thunder Bhut Jolokia hybrid.

It made its first appearance in 2015:
"This coloration might be the result of the intense
light on these red Bhuts, but only 2/6 show the trait.
If it is a cross,the only purple-y plant near the bhut
was Trippa's Mystery Cross. All of these seeds from
the same pod:"

Nothing impressive here (thanks to the shitty weather) but at least my Purple Thunder yellow caramel plant looks healthy. The first flower clusters have finally decided to appear; can't wait to see the pods!.

That’s a great looking specimen from both angles, Bou.
So far, my runty pods are showing the right color, now
just to hold out for the full-sized beauties! I hope yours
follows suit.

This is my F7 purple strain, from dontpanic's seed stock on the Train.. Starting to pod up and look a lot better now that it's outside. 
Potted in a 350, since it seems to want to be a Bonchi.

Guess what? We had another round of 100+F days.
Plants handled it quite well, with lots of pod-setting.
All things considered, the plants look great. If we have
a nice Fall, some of the pods might even ripen!

The Purple Thunder in the #15T container has turned
out to be the best one in the grow. Very big, very loaded
with pods. This was supposed to be my back-up plant
and I only planted it out because I had an extra space.
Only thing is the pods seem to have lost the caramel shading:

There are lots of nice pods on the bush, and lots of smaller ones, too:

I thought the intense sun this Summer would have really brought out the shading.

Picked these from the Purple Thunder Panama GH F6 today.
Very few seeds in any of these pods, but the color and
phenotype are good. @Glen called these Yellow Lava. There
are some larger, gnarlier pods still to ripen up, but things
are proceeding on all the PT plants (2 of the Glen’s F6 and
3 of my F4 yellow/caramel):

Looking forward to seeing how other folk are doing with the PT!

last season and it had some absolutely beastie pods on it, real

Thanks, @ze_test, some of the credit (well, most all of it) goes to
Mother Nature. She has been kind so far this season even though
we are messing with her pretty badly. Hope the human race will
wake up soon, especially the fossil fuel extractors and de-foresters
(Palm oil sucks.)

Here are some more of the F6 yellow from @Glen_. They have
much more of the caramel color than the pods I've gotten off
the F4's so far. Hoping for more of them (F4) to ripen up in the
next week or two. I took seeds from the pods in the outer ring,
although again, not many seeds in each pod. Most have less
than a dozen. But they sure look awesome!

Basically, the pods are yellow on the shady side and caramel on the sunny side.

A few more pods ripening up, but still lots more to go.
Rainy season is fast approaching, so hoping against
hope that there are enough decent days left to spur
the pods remaining on the plants to fully ripen.

These are from the F4 yellow/caramel. Finally getting
some of the caramel coloring back after the early all
yellow pods.

the F4 in an 18 gallon container has some terrific pods on
it, but they are only just now starting to ripen up. Hoping
to get some photos of them as they get ripe.
