I'm thinking milkweed assassin bugs. They are supposed to be beneficial, eating aphids and such.
Interesting... I have a bunch on some milk weed here, thought they were stink bugs and sprayed them... DOH, gonna leave them be now, might even move a few to the garden...
weirddd.
I think I saw them on one of AJ's earlier posts, which he quoted:
"I have some guardian angels too...they hatched just a few days ago and are about 1/2" long now...hoping to get a resident population"

Those are baby praying mantises AJ posted in those pics.

Assassin bugs they kill aphids worms etc....
Cool, we left them alone, I don't want kill anything unless its harmful

They look like hatchling/1st instar "Wheel Bugs" I believe the latin name is Arilus cristatus. They love to eat hornworms!

they are beneficial but if pushed will bite the kaka out of you...I got bitten by an adult last fall...

Well since I read they can be omnivores when milk weed isn't around. I tapped a few off in a cup and put on some of my starts that have some aphids in. There on a table off the ground in the yard, so the natural predators don't go up there. The rest in the ground or on it are fine. Well When i came back home that evening i saw one workin every leaf at high speed lookin for a snack. Never knew what they were, or how well they worked. I did a holocaust dusting of DE to see if I can keep the snails at bay, never bothered me before but now those damn things are every where this year, maybe just a cycle I suppose.
