Thanks for stopping by, and check back soon, I'm sure this season is bound to be interesting.

Extremely nice garden makeover, Ronin! And glad to see that
you CO folk are getting some rain showers. Nothing grows
better than in the high desert after a rain storm! I have enjoyed
Bonnies grow a lot, and am glad I visited here. Hope to see
more of your grow - looks fantastic so far!

Thanks for the compliment and for stopping by!
As I type this a storm is rolling in... Hooray!
A high desert it is..
My plants are going to love any moisture we can get..

On Sunday I upgraded two more kids to larger accomodations..
The Moruga and the Tazmanian Habanero got moved from 1 liter airpots to 1.5 gallon airpots.

And I'll end this update with another shot of one of the garden workers..
Without this guy.....I'd be really busy....

Thanks for stopping by!
Until the next update...

Woah! Look at the pollen on that dude's hind leg!
Great emerging pods and flowers - your plants are
about ready to kick into overdrive!

Overdrive is what I'm looking forward to...
Mass pod production..

On this installment of Roningarden..
We had some crazy thunderstorms roll through last night.
Luckily, it did leave some moisture behind.. Plants are lovin it..
Tonight everything in Promix will get fed..

As with every update, let's get to the photos...

Another Atomic Starfish flower..

And in the other part of the garden...
The Roma tomatoes are getting closer to to harvest.
So far this is the only one showing some color.

Plants looking good, bro! Is that White Hab a Peruvian? I have
one, but it's pods are much smaller and rounder than yours. Maybe
as the season progresses, I'll get larger pods. I ate a little one the
other day - not a bad punch, but it was one of the earliest pods so
maybe not up to it's potential, yet.

Keep up the good work, Ronin!

Nice looking plants!

Thanks Vodu!
What's your closest 14'er?
Longs Peak is the closest to me.

I have no idea if the White Hab is a Peruvian or not..
I sourced the seeds from PepperJoe.
I'm suspecting that the pods aren't going to get much bigger on mine.
It's a first growing a White Hab for me..
Only time will tell..

Today on this episode of RoninGarden..

I'll start off with the comeback kid, the Black Habanero.
This guy was close to deaths door for a while. The main stem started to die off and began forming new growth at the base just above the soil.
So I clipped the main stem off and since then this guy is rockin!
Here's a then and now.
Approx a week ago.

Hey, Ronin! Great critter pics. Also like the sky background
in your flower shots. Makes the plants look monumental!

Good growin', bud! The comeback on the little black habanero
is astounding. But then, I guess that's what we have come to
expect from our little toughies!

You know jumping spiders are the only spiders with eyes in the front of their heads?

I had no idea..
Took me the better part of 5 minutes to get a good shot.
No matter where I moved it saw me movin...
Glad he's on patrol.

I try and change it up when taking photos. Gotta keep it interesting..
Can't wait til the Black Habanero starts putting out some pods!
And yes, They are tough!

Todays update:
It has been pretty quiet in the garden.
We've received a decent amount of moisture recently. The afternoon thunderstorm season has begun.
Our average humidity hovers around 10-15%, so once it hits 25%, expect a storm..

The Atomic Starfish is podding up nicely..
Here are the two largest pods at the moment..

The Giant Bhut is just going crazy... pods and flowers everywhere..
giantbhut_5463.jpg

The 7 Pot Yellow is putting out flowers just about anywhere it can...
7potyellow_5429.jpg

The White Habanero is podding up too.
Small plant, but producing an insane number of pods..

This is the guy that has me smiling ear to ear right now...
The Butch T #1 has its first pod!

I'll end this update with one of the most difficult to photograph garden helpers...
The dragon.

Thanks for stopping by!

Nice pod production on those plants, Ronin! Looks like
the combo of sun and showers is to their liking!

The atomic starfish is a cool looking pod. Almost grew
some of those this year, but now I have your pics to
satisfy my interest!

Good growin' to ya!

Today on this episode of RoninGarden,
The afternoon thunderstorm season has officially arrived.
We've had showers consistently for the last week.
This is a welcomed change..
When it rolls in, It rolls in..
Before:
IMG_5494.jpg

40 minutes later:
IMG_5496.jpg

My plants definitely enjoy the resulting moisture..

I upgraded four kids from 1 liter airpots to 1.5 gallon airpots.
I also moved the Bhut Jolokia (CCN plant) from a 5 gallon bucket in homemade soil into a 1 liter airpot of PromixBx. A crossgrade I suppose. Smaller house, better environment.

Here are the four in their new homes...

Well, I normally end my updates with a pic of those that help in the garden..
Today I have a pic of eggs on a leaf of the Atomic Starfish.
I've done the searching and have no idea what they are..
If anyone has any info on what they could be, it would be greatly appreciated.
If they're good I'll leave them, If not.. They're out! Thanks!

Great updates! Looks like all that hard work is paying off and you're getting some really great looking pods. No idea about the eggs on the leaf, IMO better safe than sorry if you can't get a straight answer on them.

Glad to see the yellow is still kicking, what size are the 4 airpots in the back of the last group shot?

Great progress!

They're all in 1.5 gallon airpots.
I agree on the eggs... I've already pinched the leaf.
I have it in a jar and will see what becomes of them...

Hey, Ronin, I'll bet that Bhut takes off in it's new smaller home.
I can't believe how well a plant can do in such a small pot. I
have a couple in #1's and they are surprisingly healthy and productive!

That's what I'm hoping for. Anything will be better than it's current situation.

great pictures! good luck with the rest of the season.
Thanks Buddy!

It's a possibility. I do have a crazy amount of flying insects here.
I have the leaf in a jar and the eggs still haven't hatched. They have changed color, so I think I'll find out soon enough what they are.
Thanks for the info!

Today on this episode of RoninGarden,
Last night I was able to upgrade the housing for 3 more of the kids from 1 liter airpots into 1.5 gallon airpots.
Butch T #3, Yellow Scorpion, and Red Brain
3 more happy campers!

I have one of these guys living on each pepper plant in the garden. Keeping an eye on the garden...

Later today I'll be changing up the housing on a few of the peppers.
I'll post pics of the results in the next update.
Thanks for stopping by!
Until the next update....

Cool looking setup! Couple of questions...
Having drilled the holes in your buckets,do you think its helped?
Lastly, the blue plugs in your air pots, are those for moisture?

Loving the insect pics!

Hey, just wondering if you had ever seen this pic. It is a juvenile jumping spider covered in pollen. Your garden guardians might be gardeners, too.:

Hadn't seen this exact pic, but something similiar. Crazy.
Wish my camera had these macro skills..
I know most are pulling double duty. Especially the spiders.

Thanks Fremp!
I think the holes have helped out in balancing the way the containers dry out..
Instead of remaining bottom heavy and soggy, they seem to dry out more evenly top to bottom.

The blue plugs are actually screws that hold the airpot together. Each pot consists of 3 parts, wall, base and screw.
Here is a pic of 1 liters and a 1.5 gallon out flat before assembly.

In the second half of todays episode of RoninGarden,,,

Today was the last big move up and side shift in the garden.
Last to make the 1.5 gallon Airpot cut was the 7 Pot Barrackpore.
I moved 5 of my CCN plants from 5 gallon buckets of soil to 1 liter airpots with PromixBx.
They're the same size as when I got them.. With only 2 months left in the season, I have to try and get some poddage on them..
Scotch Bonnet, Habanero Red Savina, Devils Tongue, Condors Beak and the Fatalii.

IMG_5650.jpg

As well, I moved 4 other peppers into larger containers with the soil from the 5 I transplanted into Promix.
Serrano, Cowhorn, Long Cayenne and Mystery #3.
