No problem.
They work as well as they look. I'm a happy camper with them so far.

Today on this episode of RoninGarden,

I changed the name of my Glog today. I officially have more peppers growing in Airpots than any other container. Therefore the name change.
This will be a brief update. Just a few pics.

yummmy!

Whats your soil mix btw?
The mix I'm using is PromixBx.
promix_3712.jpg

It's a first for me in going soil-less.
But the tag team of Airpots and Promix seems to be working out great.

On this episode of RoninGarden,

I'll start off with a months' growth on the black habanero.

Here it is on 7/17:
blackhabjul17_5008.jpg

Here it is today on 8/15:
blackhabaug15_5996.jpg

Amazing what these plants are capable of given proper conditions.

Here are some pods on the 7 Pot (ccn nursery plant):

Can't wait til they are ripe..

I'll end todays update with the Giant Bhut Jolokia #1:
Podding up like crazy as well as having some really diverse pod formations.
About a week away from harvesting my first superhot.
Come on Bhut!

Thanks for stopping by!
Until the next update...

It's exciting when you finally start to see some color on those pods, isn't it? Everything looks great!

Thanks!
It's that kid at christmas feeling... Got a present but can't open it...
Very excited, the bhuts will be the first superhots of the season.

Looks like I'll be harvesting a couple Giant Bhuts this weekend.
Far sooner than I thought..
IMG_6039.jpg

IMG_6041.jpg

My stomach rumbles in hunger every time I see them..

Everything in Promix got fed yesterday. This stuff stinks, but the plants love it..

Here is a few quick pics of the garden.

Good Morning!

On this mornings episode of RoninGarden,

Everything will get a nice watering today. As well the compost pile will get some turning.
Getting much closer to harvesting some Bhuts.... Oh the waiting..
Otherwise..
Just a few pics for now...

Outstanding, Ronin! You garden shots of the array of air pots is way cool.
Good move into smaller pots. Sometimes one has to take drastic action.
How did the bhut you downsized a while back fare in it's new, smaller home?

Good luck finishing out the season, buddy!

Thanks Paul!
The downsize on the bhut is working out well. Initially it dropped most of the leaves.
The leaves that survived are now yellowing a bit, but new growth has already taken hold.
Here is a pic of it today:
IMG_6092.jpg

This is a good sign as I also downsized five other nursery plants shortly after the bhut.
They're in the same state currently, mass leaf loss followed by mass growth.

Thanks for visiting RoninGarden..

Excellent, my friend. Same thing happened to my Choc Hab that I
depotted and put in a #1 nursery pot. Lost all its leaves and was
just a stick for awhile, not looks like a little bush about four inches tall!
I need to post a pic on my blog.

On this episode of RoninGarden,

We've been getting a good bit of clouds rolling through the last few days.
This has been very good for pod production.

I'll start off with the 7 pot and its flower variations. 5 and 6 petal flowers.

Next up is the Black Habanero.
Finally starting to form some buds:

Welcome to todays episode of RoninGarden,

As a follow up to the last update..
The Giant Bhut became the first superhot harvested this season.
Made a great Balti chicken dish.
Filled with bhut oil despite being a little unripe in the tip.
Weird pod shape but nice bhut flavor and heat.
IMG_6238.jpg

Here is the next Bhut pod that will be harvested... next day or so..
giantbhut_6349.jpg

Here is yesterdays garden harvest.
White Habaneros, Long Red Slims, Abe Lincoln and Roma tomatoes.

A look at the "brainy" 7 pot yellow plant.

Seeing some color change in one of the 7 Pot pods:
7pot_6344.jpg

First Purple Bhut pod shaping up nicely:
purplebhut_6370.jpg

Today's star is the Atomic Starfish.
Pods forming everywhere. Color showing on a few pods.
This pepper has dropped very few flowers. Everything that has bloomed has mostly taken hold.

Very nice! Can't wait to hear about the flavor and heat on that Atomic Starfish! How does the heat/flavor of the white habaneros compare with the orange kind?

I'm not growing the Purple Bhut, but that pod on yours doesn't look like the ones I've seen photos of before. Here's a link that has a few pictures of them on it.

http://thehotpepper....e-bhut-jolokia/

I too can't wait to try the starfish.. Don't know what to expect...
To me, the heat is approximately the same with the whites and orange habs.
The whites have a nice flavor, although I haven't eaten one by itself. I've had some of the white habs in a few burrito dishes so far.
I really want to make a white hab powder, that will allow me to experiment with more dishes.

As far as the purple bhut pod goes...
Here are the pods the seeds came from.
Open pollinated I'm sure..
IMG_2865.jpg

It might be a Chocolate Bhut??

I've noticed that the pod variations from plant to plant vary as well as on the same plant. Maybe it's the extra radiation we're getting here at altitude...
Check this out.
This is a ripe Giant Bhut that I just harvested. I think this is nothing like a typical giant bhut shape. Bell pepperish..
IMG_6387.jpg

Yet here it is next to another pod still on the same plant.
A much more "bhutish" shape.
IMG_6381.jpg

The last bhut I got off the plant looked like the bell style but had the bhut heat and flavor..

I know not to expect a pepper to be anything it's said to be, until it's really podding up.
I have a 7 Pot Yellow that is turning out to be a bit more brain strain like than a typical 7 pot...
As well as a Butch T thats not looking like the typical "butch pod"..
It's kinda fun to have "variable" peppers in the mix.

Also going on in RoninGarden today:

Taking advantage of the low humidity and intense sun, while repurposing a jiffy pod greenhouse.
Sun drying Naga Morichs I won from Compmodder26's auction. As well as some dark nagas, bhuts and douglahs I got from Mtbrider17.
Thanks guys for the great pods!
