food S.I.P./Quarantine Cooking

Tonight I did the PFR again but wanted to up my game. MORE curry, MORE teriyaki, HOTTER (lol SL look at the date on my 7-Pot)... what I did was marinate the pineapple in the curry this time. And wow so much better. I also added this mango hot sauce from CZ that tastes like fresh mango and cinnamon (also on the samosa). So good! Here's the pick and please check this sauce out: https://gastonchilli.cz

And dammit, all that trying to up my game and I forgot the egg!

AJ 2011! Wonderful!!!!

Chile powders dont ever expire. They may be slightly less potent, the Volcanic Peppers powders I used were probably the same circa as that AJ powder. I think I still have some Sethsquatch powder. That's a blast from the past... and I wonder if anyone here remembers him?

Tonight's dinner was a pot of beans, with some aidells sausage. Red beans started soaking yesterday.

Today, drain and rinse the beans!!!! Very important step!!!

Onion, garlic, a bit of soup base, and when honey wasnt looking, some chili powder and cumin...didnt tell him... ;)... and a dash of pepper and Jonah 7 Pot.

He gave me like 8 powders in a little kitchen rack thing it was so cool of him and I did use some of them all up but some have a lot in em still and yeah. No difference at all! If you told me they weren't as hot, I can not tell.

I had the honor and privilege.

To got to AJ's casa.

He grilled poppers.

They were hot AF!

And then.

He sent me home with some jars.

His t-scorp puree is still.

The hottest 'thang I ever ate.

It was like going to hell.

And heaven.

At the same time.

I wish I had some more.

I have some puree! He also gave me a shitload and some got stuck in the back of the cabinet. Like a fine wine maybe I will crack one open. I think the handwriting says 2008/9

I am not generally a fan of frozen ground meat for burgers , but this ground pork worked really well. I did fresh grind it just before freezing , so maybe that is why.
good looking burg!
i've never had a ground pork burger. do you like it as much as a beef patty, or were you just using stuff up/trying something new?
for example, i think turkey burgers taste fine but even so are inferior to beef.

When you overcook, magically, you always interned slices! ;)

There really isn't an A vs B comparison for me.

If I want a beef burger that is what I have.

if I am in the mood for something else I go , chicken, turkey, pork.

I don't really think about it as being inferior because it is just what I wanted at that moment.

I do a wicked good stuffed turkey burger that I crave every once and awhile.

sinensis, they usually have sweet and hot ground pork at the supermarkets just like the sweet italian or hot italian sausages. it`s just loose like ground beef and not in sausage link form. i buy it sometimes to change things up from regular burgers.

awesome butt, WarrantMan. are you a shredder/puller or a slicer?
i've been doing slices lately on my butts.
Thanks. I do a bit of it all, just depends on the mood, but I am partial to pulling. This one here, I sliced off a small hunk for myself (for brunch) and took the remaining section (still hot) to some elderly neighbors. They were very appreciative and I suppose they will eat off it for a few days. It was delicious. I was happy, other folks are happy too!  I got a wonderful brunch for $20. Fed some others top-notch for a couple meals. In this I am pleased. In the process - got to make some campy videos to share here. Win-win.
