That must have been some hot crabs Pia.  Looks good....Pia, have you ever considered growing a few plants in large pots, with some good light mix?
If not, you should try a few to experiment next year.  I grow all of my peppers in containers because they do poorly in the ground for me.  You do have to
water them daily when I gets hot, but it's worth it.....It doesn't look like your getting much pods.....If you want, I can send you some of my dehydrated pods
to try.

Hola Pia, Gardens lookin good! Hope you had a great time in Florida :)

Curious, how do you cook your crabs? Getting caught up,and haven't stopped drooling! Looks damn good!!

Peace!

Great vids Pia Mia, that's a lot of weeding.....I might have just let it play out if it were me....lol I used straw this year and it kept 95% of the weeds out. I love it and will def. be doin it again next year.

POD PORN POD PORN POD PORN. Things are looking up for you. Can't wait for all the harvest shots Pia!

AAHAHHAA!!!!  Holy Shiznat???  ahahahaaaa.  Yeah I went for variety this year because I tried so many from others that people sent last year that I wanted to, Number 1 send pods out for others to try, and Number two try them myself.   .  Yeah! Anymore black nagas and my garden may turn black like me   happy growing to you my friend.

Hi Pia!

I hate clay!!!!...but you know what to do now. Enrich. You can also conserve good soil usage in clay by cheating a little, plant in 3-5 gallon pot with good soil dig a hole
half as deep as the pot-a little wide at the bottom where your drain holes are...toss a layer of good soil down(an inch or so. Set the pot in the hole, add some more good stuff to cover the holes, then fill the rest in with the local mean clay. Its enough cover to keep the pot from getting to hot(bad),there is room for roots to sneak out
and the clay retains lots of moisture, and you don't spend a fortune on dirt to amend your whole garden volume.

Looks like you have enough heat to for your sake even if the clay stays ....

Or perhaps you need some of these :woohoo:

I ducked already
SEE ya!

Really GNSLGR  REALLY!!  You just had to didnt you????  I am going to amend the soil.  If you notice the plants in the back are exploding.  They were in that nasty clay last year.  I fish Shittted them to death.  Soil is much better.  Looser.  The soil looks horrible and is heavy, but the plants get it when they get it if you know what I mean.  Each year is a learning experience and I am learning about soil this year.  Thanks my friend and I will be  hitting you up for more soil ideas through the off season to work in buckets.  experiment time this winter with clay soil in pots.  Should be fun. :onfire:

Nice updates, Pia.  I think my favorite is the Lolita; that's a really pretty plant.  And yeah, weeds can really take over when you go away for awhile.  Good save.

I love the Lolita.  It was sent to me from Jamison.  It is a gorgeous plant.  I had two pheno's in the beginning.  I lost one but the prettiest of the two survived. I will ask if I can share the love just in case.

Garden work is hard, I hate weeds!

Can't wait to see the harvest shots!

Thanks Scott.  It sure is hard work.  Thats why I sat down and took two days.  Got a nasty bite no doubt from the tens of hundreds of spiders I saw in the weeds.  ahahahaaaa!  I exaggerate! But its all in the love of growing and I don't mind.  Thanks for checking in my friend.

Hey Linda,

I have never considered growing in pots because my mother's yard is so large.  I do need to mix and amend the soil but once the plants adjust they take off like gang busters.  Its very heavy soil but its filled with nutrients. If you notice, the space I used in the rear was used last year and there are tons of pods on those plants and they are much taller.  All I did was work the soil and use decomposed fish.  I let the soil go this year because of my knees, but I plan on making them pop and getting what I can get out of the rest of the season.  Learn learn learn right???  Thanks for your suggestions and I am going to try to grow in pots over the winter amending the soil and new lighting.

Hola Kyle,
I normally cook them in beer, crab seasoning from Jessie Taylor's Seafood and a little vinegar crab boil by I believe Zatarains.  I didnt cook them this time.  I had them steamed at the Wharf in Washington DC.
Here is tonights dinner.  Another Choc Hab and spinach and a steak.  The color of the steak looks crazy because of the spinach juice which I loaded the plate with because I love spinach.

Pia, I was raised in NY, just north and east of you on the "island" nothing there bites, unlike here...dang if it don't bite, sting, or stick ya, even the ants bite!

So what I'm getting at, your safe...and lucky :D

Plants are looking good! Poddage is a wonderful thing!

The crab dinner, to die for! I was up that a way this summer and had some of the local crab in Maryland, wish I could get that here!

Glad to see you the garden weeded down, those weeds are hosts to all the bad guys! And they take the nutes from the good guys and gals...bad weeds!

Keep on keeping on!
