food Sandwich of the Month

I just realized I was a big 'ol FAIL for January.
We never really had any leftover stuff to make a sammy with.
I'll try to do better in February. :mope:

i've had em as corned beef with and without pastrami, with and without kraut ... so. many. wins.

how can I compete with these people?

... short of making my owned corned beef, that is ...
 
There's a certain gratifying magic that comes with creating it in your own kitchen tho......

I want to add some heat to mine, but not sure where to put it.
In the dressing? While cooking the corned beef? Mixed in with the 'kraut?

heh, heh, heh..this is kinda funny. Had to buy more yeast today, and for the first time ever, bought the Active (non-bread machine) kind. Kinda committed myself to more non-bread machine dough making! But then, at the last minute, I chickened out and got the bread machine yeast too! I predict much dough in my future!!!!!! :rofl:

Is bandwidth really a concern these days - it makes you sound grumpy and i think that ship has sailed for the most part ...

people are even migrating off IE6, it's "all happening ..." [said in voice from Almost Famous] ...

Also, meant to say, the only issue I took with that post was as a Reuben purist, I cannot stand pastrami Reuben's or anything that deviates from the classic.

It is a named sammich. When I order a sammich by name, I expect them to bring me, down to the last bit, exactly and only what is on that sammich.

A "pastrami Reuben" isn't a Reuben. It's a pastrami sammich with kraut. A "turkey Reuben" same thing.

No - corned beef, rya, kraut, Swiss, Russian dressing - period.

Just sayin. I order it by name so I don't have to play 20 questions with the waitress. Nothing gets on my last nerve faster than doing that anyway, despite ordering it by name.

Yep sounds good, for xmas i got a couple of wicker?cane? baskets for the Wood Fired Oven, going to definitely start making more bread.

For Xmas lunch pumped these out in the morning. First proper bread from scratch, no bread machine

How do you use a wicker basket in a pizza oven?! Wouldn't it burn?
 
First try without using the bread machine. Might be luck.

The wicker baskets are for the Wood Fired Oven, so not sure yet, i think i have to soak then first before using. Will get around to it soon, got to also start a Sourdough Starter mix i think, give that a crack


It was nearly everyones favourite thing on the xmas day, that or the roast pumpkin.

Haha no soup, but did mop up all the meat and gravy juices
