Scovie's Bits. (And maybe some cooking)

You done did!

I must admit tho, I have ben in a rut with my eggs and cooking in general. Something as simple as putting a lid on the eggs never would have crossed my mind. Fried, scrambled, poached, omelette. Repeat. Same same same. I like your technique and will damm sure be doing it the very next time I cook eggs. So, thanks for that! Unless it will be omelettes, then I want to try the classic french method. :D

Hey TB, you have a flattop, let's see an omelette as big as your head!

This is from one of my favorite human, Anthony Bourdain's cook book.

Oh shit yes!

That last paragraph was very informative. I may have just changed up my process. I am looking forward to trying. I don't usually eat eggs during the week except for a random day off or the rare IHOP dinner. I am stoked for the weekend!

Thanks for sharing saiias.

Put microwaved on your list.

I can nuke a mean egg taco. Blasphemy? Perhaps. Delicious? Indeed.

Can't be any worse than a microwaved hot dog.....

Which...By the way, can be really good as opposed to a boiled dog.

Them Longhorn's the Carlton store used to sell did better in the micro than in water. Not as good as the in-store rotisserie....But good in a pinch.

Honestly if you cook it right it turns out awesome. I've mastered the nuked egg but everyone's microwaves and bowl sizes are different so not sure my tips will help. But I only use one egg, in a little mini Pyrex bowl/cup. Stretch the egg with milk or half and half and you can add cheese or jalapenos or whatever, AND s&p. Cook around 30 seconds and stir, another 30 or so (when it looks like it puffs), stir again, and then one more time until it looks done, 15-30 more. Comes out like a fluffy omelet.

We've tried the microwave technique but prefer butter. LOL By the time we get the bread/tortillas/English muffins toasted, and everything else is prepped, the pan is ready for the eggs. I have rings that keep the eggs nice and tidy. Sometimes I'll leave the yolk alone, other times I'll scramble it a little inside the ring and add onions, peños or just hotsauce.

CJ does bacon in the microve and it's perfect every single time. She just layers 4-5 pieces in between 19-35 paper towels and microwaves on high for 5-6 minutes. Bamm!
