Nope...not on any other chile-sites. Where was it?

And back to the pizza...the Lebanese pizza here at my house has become the ultimate of pizza...the damn thing is so good, nothing comes close.

LB my wife is of Lebanese decent and if your doing a Lebanese pizza with a Mountain Bread crust, Hummus for a sauce and Kibbie and Shish kabob meat with Tabouli and Goat Cheese.............

Just let me know what time to be there for lunch and you'll have my vote!

I'm ruminating on the idea of a s'mores pizza......

Would be epic but the Graham Cracker crust will be hard to keep from crumblin into the fire

I'm ruminatin on how Im going to explain the $2500.00 I'm going to need to spend on an outdoor kitchen between now and the 1st. :cool:

Heh. There's graham cracker crust like one used for cheesecake, and then there's make-your-own-graham-cracker-from-scratch crust. No crumbling required. Do you think I'm going to go out-of-the-box with graham crackers from out of a box? ;)

Actually...I use mousaka <sp> for the sauce, and stuff the crust with hummus and garlic fried egg plant.
 
Moussaka is a dish.

Bechamel is the sauce.

Moussaka can also be a stew...with tomatoes and chickpeas. I omit the other stuff and use it like a marinara...then the "other stuff" gets added in other ways. Our local Lebanese place doesn't make the lasagna-style moussaka.

But bechamel...I make that too...that's French, and with some tweeking I use it in place of ricotta cheese in lasagna. Why would I put that on a Lebanese pizza?
 
I love moussaka, it's my favorite drunk food from Turkish joints. TB, it's kinda "chunky saucy" it's basically just stir-fried eggplant, tomatoes, onions.. until nice and saucy and olive oily. It's delicious! Not to be confused with the Greek version which has meat and is like a lasagna. The Lebanese version is probably just like the Turkish.

I can see that as your sauce layer!

As for the Florida boys and girls, we might get smacked with a hurricane on Monday.
Supposed to be a little one, but those things can still knock out power for a few days.

I for one am damn happy it's outdoor pizza. And if the power goes out, I have to use the shit I have in the freezer.
Florida lobster, steak, home grown mango, etc...

Also, to the boss, remember when you let me pick the td (waffle)? That shit wasn't easy. A lot of thought and consideration goes into it.
I appreciate having the td to look forward to every month, and hope to enter for years to come.

It's been a rough day...but it's business as usual. Just super busy and super tired.

T-downs are a stretch for me these days even when I DON'T have to to do tricks to cook something like a pizza outside. Yeah, it sounds like an interesting one....albeit a bit too narrow (as we've knocked down several times in years past) But, as the months go by, original ideas for these competitions get harder and harder with which to come up.

This one is beyond the realm of my schedule and my ability (since my grill recently went to barbecue heaven). I just hope we come up with a regular anual list of throwdowns...with a wild card every 6 months or so. It'd be so awesome if we knew a year ahead of time that July was "Burgers" and September was "Steak" and August was "Pizza".

I'm sure nobody else feels this way, but it'd sure make it easier (for me, at least) to be able to prepare longer than a week before in order to block out the time, and make ready. Oh yeah.....and see 12 different ideas pop out to me in 17 pages of bantering......


...not that I don't enjoy the comments! ;)

My SoFlo Bros taught me that it's the spontaneity of the TDs that really rocks the spirit of things....and I agree with them wholeheartedly!!!!! :party:

No. The guys joke with you about something, and you take it for what it is - joking around. I joke with you about the same things, and you go into attack mode. I thought you were a cool guy when I started, and could joke around like everyone else does, but apparently that's not the case. I have never insulted you, and won't. If you choose to twist everything I say into something negative, that's your problem. I'm not going to let it be mine.

Yes! You think it's easy until you get the theme, then there are all the "what ifs" and "what is a...?" etc. etc. And then some people say we don't need restrictions and then others say we need to restrict it to.. .and you start to go freakin' Jay-Z. That's like crazy but involves Jay and a third nipple.
