Those rocotos are just jammin out the pods right now.

Its not all good. Here is a Ms. Junie container. The plants had the top foot eaten off by one of our giant grasshoppers(about 4 inches long). it caused all the pods to drop and is just starting to grow back now.

22 degrees this morning, looking at hard freezes intermittently for two more weeks. As Timmy Hoffa moves the goalposts, so does ol' Ma Nature...

Good thing you got me to keep you alerted to what you're not missing... ;)

And you know how heavily I rely on those alerts.

And here is something for you, as I was perusing through old photos I found one from 2015.

See, all done freezing up there by the end of May!

But, there are a few bugs. Like this leaf-footed something or other.

We have the Leaf Footed Leaf Hopper too. They suck, literally. They go after color, orange and red. They come into my garden late, hitting the last of the tomato season.

Any peppers I run after late June to July constantly get damaged by their sting marks. I literally go out every day, sometimes twice a day with a neem oil mix to contact spray them.
Sunflowers and Marigolds will help pull them away from your produce, so they say. One of these days I'll git round to it.

One thing I learned here in the deep South is the things that eat your produce, learn that you grow it, and come back. Which is why I started a crop rotation program.
I hope it helps.

We had a cold front come in, blowing like crazy, 30+ mph gusts.

High of 80° today, down from 95°

Picked a few more peppas this morning. Cherry bombs, Numex Jalapeno Lemon Spice, Rocoto Montufar, Numex Jalapeno Pumpkin Spice.

The big Paquime Hybrid Jalapeno from the other day cut to save seeds. About three or four of these halved and loaded are pretty much a meal.

Look at the huge placenta. These have pretty good heat. Sliced on a pizza will bring some dampness to the forehead.
