...and Itallian Pepperoncini from the same seed pack as the others but look quite different.

Those are some cool odd pods. Any flavor/heat difference?

So, you had to ask! First, I will state my sense of taste/palate pretty well sucks. We shall do the photo spread first.
The peppers, the original/correct pheno seems to have two lobes where the variant has three.
(yes, I know I spelled a word wrong in the photos but too lazy to redo them!)

The standard pod had just slight heat with noticeable sweetness.
The variant had low to medium heat and no noticeable sweetness.
I may try to grow out a plant from the variant seeds to see what the next generation brings. I think these may be good in a sweet pickle brine.

A tale of 4 chinense plants. Two will be screwed with heavily, one going into a Kratky bucket, and one will likely get transferred to dirt.

A pair of rocotos that are fairly similar but now one is going to get screwed with and one is not.

Not screwing around with this one, I just think one pod that does not drop is better than none!

Hey, SB. The Devil's Brains look like really robust
specimens, and the rocotos are looking great.

Your whole grow looks awesome. Sorry you have
to contend with the long Florida grow season  ;) ,
but it looks like you are making the best of it!
Been growing the Devils Brains for 5 or six years, whether in the ground, container, or Kratky I always get big dense plants with very heavy poddage, and they make good powder or sauce.
It is super tough trying to put up with the somewhat long(aka year around season), you know, having to pick and process peppers, fruits, and vegetables.....ALL THE TIME![emoji51][emoji15][emoji6]. But, I guess I just gotta tough it out.

All things aside, I will have to deal with the hot, wet, and hurricane season before long.

When they go into The big buckets what are they sitting in? Like what size net cup and what media?
See post #43 in my garden stuff here, did a kohlrabi there but I do them all the same.

I use bucket lid net pots like these:

Hydrofarm HG10MESHPOT 10-Inch Bucket Basket Lid https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0049XEDMK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_YgSwEbF70FAM3

I use HydroCorn or GrowIt Pebbles as they have random shapes, where hydroton is perfectly round balls. I have found that the hydroton does not stabilize the plant as well.
