SKULLBIKERS Roaring Into The Twenties GLOG

I had this Emerald Fire jalapeno plant last winter that grew with a single stalk with no branching and dense leaves, and it produced a single pod.

I saved the seeds from that pod and planted a few. I thought that possibly the next generation might look different. I was wrong, all three that I grew out have the exact same growth pattern. Here are pics of 2 of them.

Now to see if I get a single pod(or any) off of any of them.

Fun times with plants.

What a freak of nature, how interesting! Guess you need a lot of plants for a decent sized harvest hahaha.

Any idea what those grubs were for? Looks like they could go on the barbecue for a quick lunch snack... ;)

Awesome grow as always SB, you really stepped it up several notches since your relocation, which I wasn't even sure was possible. Will continue to follow your glog with excitement [emoji1303]

Seems like about every third container I move to cut grass has one of these giant grubs underneath!
Looks like the Armadillo cannot keep up!

I can send you some moles if the armadillos can’t keep up [emoji1787]. Trade ya for some rocoto montufar seeds [emoji1787][emoji16][emoji106]

I have plenty of those too. How about if I send you the seeds so you WILL NOT send your moles. I could send an Armadillo with the seeds, but try not to pet it as they carry leprosy!

Picked a few on my walk around this morning.
Cherry Bombs in several phenotypes.
Suhauro Big Chilis, these are f1, the correct pheno is the red one on the right, the yellows are the surprise.
A couple Devils Brains.
And, a few more Rocotos, Should be about another 1/2 lb from what was picked Sat, Sun, & today.

A little update about another Emerald Fire Jalapeno plant that I had mentioned last winter. The original pods out of the commercial vender seed pack were normal.
The f1 pods are these:

I saved and replanted those a while back and now the f2 pods look like this:

I will wait for those to ripen and then plant those seeds. I wonder how many generations I will be able to keep going at the same time.

Well done SB! You're killing it with those Rocoto's

Curious about the grubs, the ones we have here are about the size of a large Orange slice in length, but fatter. They munch dead materials, good guys..

The grubs are still gross..LOL  Just how do they slime like that?

Sorry, buddy, another example of fat-fingering

Your grow is something else, SB! Especially those
rocotos.
Hey, no problem. I will probably always mess with acronyms/abbreviations. As a rule of thumb, When In Doubt—Type It Out! [emoji848]

Those rocotos are just pounding out the pods right now. I am really pleased with them. I am guessing that others growing them should begin putting out the pods soon also.

A Bounty of Rocotos?!? In Central Florida?!?

A favorite para-phrased Mark Twain quote of mine is: "Sometimes, the things you don't know aren't as bad as the things you're absolutely sure of, but just ain't so!"

Your 2020 grow is turning many of my absolute truths about growing peppers in the deep South completely on their head.

I have been getting behind with harvesting and general plant maintenance, mostly due to the abundant production that I greatly miscalculated. I think the reason I did that was from reading posts for years from people in Florida telling how hard is was to grow peppers and other things here. As a rule, I am growing using the same procedures and materials that I used in Minnesota. Essentially, I went from Zone 3b to 9b and all that changed is my production which I estimate has doubled.
Well anyway, enough on that. I went around the garden this evening and picked all the good AND BAD OVER RIPE pods out there. I ended up with a LARGE basket of good peppers and about 1/2 of a five gallon bucket of bad pods.

Picking is easy, processing takes up the time.

Next to attack the tomato plants.
