Sm1nts2escape's 2014 First Glog

Welcome to my Glog! This will be my first year growing peppers. Last year was my first for growing tomatoes but I grew from starter plants. So with that being said I will probably be making some mistakes and would appreciate your advice if you notice something. Anyways,  I purchased a Secret Jardin Dark Propagator 90 (DP90) 3x2x3 grow tent and two 300w led fixtures off of ebay to get this season started. Everything has broke the surface minus the Brown Bhut (dried pods), Jalabanero (frozen Pods) and  Red Congo (Frozen Pods). I am hoping they will do something soon. One thing that has me puzzled is the Blue/purple tint that has developed on say 65% of my pepper seedlings. I don't know if I should be concerned but they are still kicking so I am just going to go with it.  Also I noticed the peppers that were transferred to Jiffy seed starting soil seem to be growing much faster than the sprouts that are a week older in the Miracle grow soil.

Good looking grow.  Honestly them things aren't Cal/Mg deficient at all.  Lot of people think those wrinkly leaves are,  but most Chinense varieties naturally grow that way.  You can throw as much Cal/Mg as you want at them and it won't make a difference.  Your plants look very happy!

Thanks. They were cal/mag deficient in the beginning but they are not now and extremely happy thanks to the OillyCann By Earthjuice. I fertilize with it about once every three waterings and you can see the difference it makes. Using Fox farms liquid Grow big every watering, Earthjuice OillyCann, Molasses and Superthrive. Feeding intensity and schedule is constantly adjusted to suit the plants and some times I'll flush with straight water a few times. I think the plants could really use some natural ferts and beneficial bacteria (poop) now but they will get some of that when I put them outside in the ground. 2 more weeks!!!

Finally got all my plants in the ground. Many are starting to throw out little pods now My fence is just tacked on for now and still need to build the main double door and side door. Removed the grass with a sod cutter that I rented at home depot and added 4 tons of LeafGro to the top. Poles are cemented in. Deer are the main problem around here. Garden is 20' x 25'. The plants didn't like the sun at first but they are starting to harden off and grow again now. My final list is 43 pepper plants, 23 tomatoes, 6 peas, 24 strawberries, 1 cucumber and 1 cantaloupe. Probably going to add a squash. I'll update in a week with some good pod pics hopefully. Can't wait to have fresh brainstrains etc. Hope your grow is going good too!

Damn storm washed about two bag fulls of my leafgro away, knocked over one of my favorite pepper plants a couple tomato plants and sprayed dirt all over the leaves. So after I staked the tomatoes and peppers that were blown over I got these pics. Looks like pain is growing well

Lol. Thanks LS929 and AaronRiot! The fence is to keep the deer out. It's just tacked on for now so I could concentrate on geting my plants in the ground and my foot is injured so I have to stay off of it as much as possible.

Peppers are coming along nicely but after the storm a few of the plants are now fighting a bit of BLS. I think the BLS came from the Leafgro...  Anyways, I think they are going to make out just fine. Here are some pics.

This is the plant that is labeled a RBS but its pods are not wrinkled and dont look true. Leaves look identical to the other Bs's though

Thanks JustFL I sure hope so! I gave each plant 6 square feet so they could bush out. Hopefully they use it.

Idk this is my first year growing peppers and I was told that is what it is. I hope it isn't but some leaves look just like what is posted as bls on the net.

Thanks! A very hot summer hopefully. The plants are fighting off the BLS or whatever it was and are recovering well. I believe the plants have taken so long to start growing again because the plants were rootbound and I didn't break them up at transplant but oh well. Seen I have some yellow primos popping out and my red primos and reapers aren't far behind Can't wait for fresh pods! lol
