Sorry IGG, some people are determined to make climate change political.
People that see snow as evidence that climate change doesn't exist all vote in the same direction.
Cheezy we have climate change all the time, its called the 4 seasons and they're for the most part usually on time. There is no reason to be alarmed. If you would like me to point out some of the lies in Al gore's movie I'll be happy to. But 1st there was one true part in his movie, the snows of Kilamanjero are gone, it's true, But that sneaky Al Gore doesn't tell you that the mountain sits right on the equator. Think about that, why would he use that mountain as an example.
Here is the big lie, that chart. He claims the scientist take sections of ice, melt it and look at the different isotopes of oxygen and determine the temperature for the whole year. Now think about that for a minute, There 3 different isotopes of O2, all can exist in a temperature parameter of 33 to 100 degrees. How could anyone determine the temp on the whole planet by looking at 3 ounces of water. Just another reason to ask the GovT for more grants.
Greenland glacier diminishing in size. Total bull, once again the sneakster shows the Greenland ice cap retreat inwards from the coast. All I can say is take a trip to Iceland and you'll get to fly right over Greenland and you'll see that the ice goes all the way to the coast except a very small area. Greenland is almost as big as the US. The ice is 10,000 feet thick so here is something to think about. Why is there no other ice on the same latitude that is an 1/8 of that thickness, What I'm saying is that if the earth is rotating and ice is melting at a relative pace, shouldn't there be ice of the same thickness somewhere else.
The greenland ice cap grew some 300 ft from 1942 to 1992. I have flown over greenland 30 times from 1996-2005 so I have seen it with my own eyes, you can even see icebergs floating around out there.
Cheezy I'll get into the carbon dioxide aspect of this later, an on a light note, I don't know how old you are so I'll give you a little history on the subject and just to let you know when they started the hard push on this in 1989-90, I was believing what they were saying.
Here is what I have learned in the last couple of years.
The first time global warming was introduce was around 1890 in the UK, thats around the time the term Green house effect was introduced. Still disputed to date, we do not live in a greenhouse as there is no whether in one.
The second time was in the 50's
Between 1969 to present the term green house gas was introduced. Would CO2 be a green house gas? Not hardly
The tone behind my fingers typing is one of ration and reason, I'm not trying to be a smart arse.
One more thing, the next time you go outside and look up into the atmosphere and keep this in mind, if our atmosphere were a stadium with 10,000 chairs, the CO2 level would be 3.5 chairs. The atmosphere is a very big place that is self regulating for the most part.
Thats all for now.
