Spicy Chickona's MMXIII Grow Log

Hello everyone.

Wasn't going to do a grow log this year, but then thought maybe someone could learn from my mistakes. ;o(

So here we go. last year I started my plants mid January and paid the price with mr frost, it was difficult watching everyone starting their plants.

Start off with the building of the new grow light boxes and maybe will get some germination going by tomorrow.

Your tractor restoration is top notch, Jeff!  Just beautiful, and you have
added a lot of value to it!  I can see that you are indeed, a master craftsman
and a true artist.  I understand your feelings about the massive grows you
have undertaken.  It is a LOT of work.  I have a devil enough of a time caring
for 35 or 40 plants!  I am probably being selfish, but I hope you continue to
grow. Your spread and facility are an inspiration, and set the bar pretty darn
high, my friend!  Your place looks like a park.

  Here's to a bright future and an easy grow next season!

Paul said exactly what I was thinking. We would hate to see you quit. We love looking at all of your construction projects.

Love the colors Jeff, Is that Battleship Gray under the red, great combination!

RM - Not sure if it's battleship gray but Massey Ferguson Gray, I';m sure I could not tell the difference tho. My wife must think it's sexy because now she races me to see who gets to drive.

Wow!

I know for a fact a ton of work went into that restoration.

Just beautiful work!

Did you go through the engine too?

Have a great week!

Scott - It is a little bit of work for sure, but gets easier as you do more of them, not sure of the count but this is like my 17th one, I like the Allis Chalmers the best for restoring

The engine was rebuilt shortly before I bought it but did split the engine and transmission to replace the clutch, pressure plate, through out bearing and engine rear seal.

Here is a list of the new parts ---- ouch

Water pump
Fan blade
Fan belt
Starter
Alternator
Coil, Cap, Rotor, Points, Condenser, Wires, and plugs
Instrument cluster
Starter switch
Battery
Front spindle bearings
Rear bearings
Rear Brake drums and pads
Brake return springs
Steering wheel
Clutch, Pressure plate, throw out bearing and Rear engine seal
Front and Rear Tires
Front and Rear Rims
Lug nuts
Hydraulic pump
Steering seals
Muffler
Exhaust manifold gaskets
Oil and oil filter
Sediment bowl assembly

Guess I should have jacked up the radiator cap and drove a new tractor under it. lol

Those are some seriously nasty-looking pods Jeff... but in a good way... ;)  You'll do what you have to do next season, but we've learned a lot from you here, and will learn even more if you decide to give it a try next year too. Cheers!

Really like the drying house!

What length of time to get the pods dry using this method?

Factors: Heat, Humidity and Air Flow.

Average heat 80 degrees.
Average Humidity 35%
Air Low to medium.

Thick skin split pod 7 to 10 days.
Thin skin split pods 5 to 7 days
Thick or thin chopped 1 to 2 days
Whole thick skin -- will not do due to fungus buildup on the inside during the long dehydration period.
Whole thin skin 12 to 14 days+ under heavier air flow.

Cheers, Jeff
