Texas Independence Day March 2, 1836

Texas is the only state to have ever been a country. I was born in San Antonio, been all kind of places but this is where I belong. God bless Texas.

I hate to break the news to you, but your "country" is now one of fifty states and therefore no longer independent. Independence day without independent is just ce day. So I will wish you a happy ce day. Now back to reality and pay Uncle Sam. lol

did any of you Californians die in the Alamo?...thought not...carry only...probably the worst mistake Texas government ever made was joining the "union"...

happy Independance day Texans...

You honestly think that no one living in California has distant relatives that died in the Alamo? This is the United States of America. People move from place to place. And, I don't think joining the union was much of a choice. Remember your history the Confederacy which you joined by choice lost the war. The union defeated the confederacy and Texas along with the other confederate states "joined" these United States.

If you do not believe it I beg you to stop paying your federal taxes and try and make your case in court.

Texas is not independent.

Texas WAS independent. Republic of Texas any bells?

All jabbing aside, no other state has as much state and cultural pride as Texas. Most places you go and its all about "me" and "mine. In Texas, it's all about "us" and "we".

Hey this is funny, "I have reached the maximum number of positive votes for 1 day" !!!!!!!

lets not forget about leather face! t.b. where i live in florida cowboy is still a proffesion also. im not down with you putting the great robert johnson on that list but whatever. go texas, its the same as everywares else! and i have lived there a while and seen several diffrent parts.

the best state ive ever been to is my state of mind

HAH! I put RJ on the list because he recorded nowhere else. He could have recorded anywhere he wanted like others of his time such as Charley Patton, but no, he chose Texas.

Florida ain't too shabby either amigo. I can only dream about owning a home in the Keys or Boca Raton for now. I love to be loving long time teh 'poons.

well texas blues im no way near the keys. if you came here you would think you were in texas, lol. and for mr.johnson well he was a rambling dude and back in the day there were only a few good recording-radio studios. I think texas and tennessee pretty much sum it up. have you ever heard of "mississippi delta blues",they dont put Bob's name at the top of that genre because of his texan style jams.

by the way i can call him bob because we go back like baby's with pacifiers, we one time shot dope at the cross roads :mouthonfire:

Texas is not independent.

the only thing I can think of is you are jealous you don't live here....try carrying a gun in California...I could have lived anywhere in the world I wanted...but I chose to live in Texas because of the laws...somebody messin' with your truck (vehicle) in your driveway, blow their ass away, put your gun down on the lawn, sit down and call 911 and bubba...that's it...no problem...try that in California...was there even a California during the Alamo?...I think not...I said no one from California fought at the alamo, not were descended from Alamo volunteers...

eat your tofu, and sushi, and leave Texas alone....best advice I can give you...

and after re-reading your post...you must be a yankee....what is your family history?...do you know?...I am proud my folks fought against the northern invaders...losing the war of northern aggression was just that...a loss, then the yankees came down south after the war and raped the country...and economy...do you know the Morril Tarrif of 1861? That along with the northern armies invading the south was the reason my family fought....what would you do if the federal government raised taxes sky high then invaded your land...eat some more tofu?
