I hear you TB. As I am redoing the kitchen, the paint and glue are working pretty well for "recession" drugs. Not to say I condone that sort of thing... but, hey, I'm not here to judge. ;)

Sorry guys, I am still a beer snob. I have a case of Keystone Light that I have been trying to get rid of for a couple of months. It was early and I was trying not to get too drunk. Also, I am saving money for the mother of all throwdown entries this weekend... Not that there is anything wrong with Keystone Light, it's just not for me on a regular basis.
 
I'm drunk...shall I post pics of Bud lite now? Wait...too drunk to post pics,,damn...I dreank tequila, and metoliuos and bud light tonith...damn....I challenge ya'll to a drunnk throwemdown!!

I never really liked light beer. Always seemed like it was half the fat with none of the drunk, but then I had some of the lime bud light. I was surprised and don't mind it so much. Now I have a couple of regular beers to get me tipsy then maintain it with a few light beers. That way I can drink more and not get wreaked.

Other than Vodka, I never could handle hard stuff.
 
Jalapenos and Fried in South Florida

Greetings all...this is a few days late, but I thought I'd share some pics of the fry-fest I enjoyed with Sumofmybits and frydad4 on my last night in Miami Monday night. Not a whole lot of commentary (because I don't really remember too much, if you know what I'm saying), but we had some fun. All you need to do this at your hacienda are some shrimp, cheese, jalapenos (or chili of choice), a fryer, and lots of beer (for your belly, but you could throw some in the batter!). Anyway, enjoy. It was almost too good looking to eat, but that didn't stop us!

Fried shrimp and jalapeno poppers. Mighty tasty...

Well done 5o!! The Florida posse is now officially revealed! I like the way you cats get down brown in the kitchen and bring the party. Excellent pics of some good greasin' grub.

Great post 5o...glad you left off the one of me with the lampshade on my head.

It was a meeting of the minds...and a destruction of the livers. Frydad, Sum, and 5o all drunk in the same kitchen!

He's an Atlanta boy, but consider 5o' part of the south florida contingent. We had a crazy weekend. Hope there are more to come.
 
This was definitely a good night with some good fried eats. The cut and battered peno's were a simple and great idea. Good show 5o on posting the brew-haha mayhem that ensued in the SoFlo FD kitchen.

Sum I'll be only too happy to oblige this weekend with drunken poppers. Got some orange habs I'll be pickin' tomorrow or saturday. Cheddar and goat cheese. Beer battered and deep fried. Blue cheese dressing on the side.

cant you do both? warm things up a bit with the peno and habs and then go crazy with the oysters.

Get the lii' lady involved too... oysters are supposed to be an aphrodisiac

I guess if you have to pick one, err on wether or not using the oysters tonight can be to your "benefit".
 
On second thought... oysters are gross. And so are peppers. In popper form, that would be a disaster! I wouldn't taint the Blues Kitchen name by posting something that horrid in the poppers thread. I mean really...
