Teehee...

Well, at nearly midnight after like 6 beers, weird shit happens. :D

Was tasty though.

quad, looks like you need to clean some dishes, using a tupperware bowl lid as a plate
also lightweight (6 beers)

Quads for the Drunken WIN plating on a tubberware lid! That beats a Keystone Ice force-field in my book. Good Drunken show.

Salude!

should try using the cardboard box it came in as a plate, or certain dishes are dirty you use different types of dishes, takes on a whole new method of cooking, or you choose different foods for cooking based on the clean dishes you have :lol:

Just a little update on the naga vodka. It has only been three days, but my curiosity has gotten the better of me so I opened it and took a swig. Awesome fruity naga flavor. Mild heat so far, but I know there is a lot more to come. I will keep you posted.

Ha...I'd lost the dish it went to, and it makes a nice plate. lol!

Oh, BTW...I'm about 145 lbs...6-7 beers in about 2 hrs...you do the math. ;)

Try it in a month...hehe..

I am trying a little more right now and I was mistaken last night. The heat is more than mild. I added a little ice to a glass (not sure if that is making it hotter) and poured a few shots in there. Great taste, but it hit my throat with the first sip. I was a little drunky last night when I tasted it. I'm not usually one for the bouquet smelly foo foo with drinks, but this stuff smells and tastes amazing!

Having spent some time in Russia I've come to accept shots of vodka. From what I was shown, you fill your shot, hold it above your nose, breath in deep then exhale. Once you exhale you take the shot and immediately follow it by inhaling with either bread or garlic sausage under your nose.

Apparently this takes the sting out of vodka, although I'm not sure how much it would help after you've steeped a naga in it. I have had it with pussy willow buds in it. That wasn't too fun. Especially when the buds hit the back of your throat.

I have never heard that, that's interesting. Nothing hits the backahmah throat (as Neil would say) like nagas though. I know I am derailing this thread a bit with the vodka chatter, but it is called Drunken Chef and I will be consuming it while cooking.

You did add the naga, JayT, which is found in the produce section of some markets... not a drug counter. And in adding said food you did alter the flavor profile, which is what chefs do. Consuming it is part of this thread... I see no derailment at all. Anyone second?

It's not so much about the taste of vodka and pussy willow buds, but the actual feeling of buds hitting the back of your throat when you aren't expecting it that makes you want to hurl.

I'm more of a beer man myself and I can't recall how many times I've heard Russians say "Drinking beer without vodka is like throwing money into the wind". Although vodka doesn't really do it for me, Russian Standard is pretty good stuff. Too bad I can't seem to find it here in Canada. I usually pick up a few bottles of it whenever I go to Russia or into the US.

Well ya'll, mrs. blues is visiting her sister this week leaving me to my own swirling cesspool of mayhem and debauchery in The Blues Kitchen. I picked up some big shitakis and thought I'd do a little papas fritas kind of 'thang. New potato, habs, 'peno, red bell, yellow onion, garlic, the shitaki's, olive oil and sea salt, rosemary and parsely. Whirred and stirred it all up in the cast iron and slapped it on melty tillamook cheddar and flour tortillas. Limes on the side.

Ijo la pera tasty!

In the beginning...there was chaos...(take a bow RB for the Stella)
