Ok it's Friday night. Have ample supply of vodky and a few beers so it's time to fire up the Jay T kitchen for some debauchery. Here is how we are going to kick things off. I just informed Mrs. JayT that WE are getting drunk tonight. On the menu thick cut boneless loin chops, potato chip fries, and broccoli with cheese sauce. The shot is Chocolate Cake. Stay tuned for the mayhem.

JayT already rockin' the kitchen! As you've become quite the meat meister, I for one am looking forward to the piccy's. Late eve culinary chaos and mayhem in The Blues Kitchen will be fried oysters...and maybe some other weirdness TBA.

Salute', TB.

Ok taking a break from the drinking to post the piccys. After three Chocolate Cakes, two vodka and citrus whatevers and a vodka tea as well as Mrs. Jay T downing Mikes Razberry lemonades we are getting happy. The chops are teriyaki, the potatoes are hand cut chips deep fried in peanut oil and sprinkled with sea salt and cracked pepper, and the broccoli is steamed and mixed with a cheddar parmesan sauce.

Notice the refil between pics... Mmmmmm I love Chocolate Cake.
Recipe for those that don't know is two parts Frangelico, one part vodka, a slice of lemon sprinkled with sugar. I used raw sugar. Chew on the sugared lemon, then shoot the shot. Tastes just like chocolate cake.

Gorgeous spread there JayT. The teetotaler known as mrs. blues I think would enjoy that chocolate cake most excuisitely. I could shovel that broccoli cheddar or better yet, just get me the feed bag. Then there's the meat. Thick! Slice it and dice it and get it drunk on that sauce. Can tery do any wrong? I think not! Those pomme frits need cheese sauce too. Spread the love all around amigo.

Cheers to you and mrs. jayt!

Salute', TB.

Thanks TB. It was malt vinegar for me with the frites. I saw those thick chops and just had to have them. I went to several stores tonight in search of big steaks and had no luck so it was chops.

Several hosky's into it, I'll have to post pics manana. I'm staring at these oysters trying to decide what to do with them..deep fry, pan fry, or??? Need more beer.

Salute', TB.

So what did you do? I am guessing fried. I should have went and got oysters last night again. This place has Blue Points every Friday for $12 a dozen!!! There will be much bbqing going on at my house this weekend. I have marinating: venison tenderloin, chicken thighs, and southern style ribs. Also, a 4lb pack of wings is sitting in the fridge looking at me every time I open the door.

I need to borrow that venison tender. Sounds like a heapem' wampum spread chief! Whatcha' got for sides? Abuse me with the details por favor.

And now we interrupt JayT's response with this just in from The Blues Kitchen...

I got the usual band of suspects together for last eve's goin's on. I was in a seafood mood (when am I not?) and the non-hippy joint just down the street from my crib has been getting in these lovely jarred oysters from WA state. Fat and plump, very clean and sweet! I reckoned I would deep fry them but needed something for a bit of a boost. Awhile back I deep fried some chile's but I got the breading all wrong thinkin' just a dredge in flour would do it but......no! This time I used the same flour/cream-eggwash/breadcrumb 'thang as I was using for the oysters. Additionally I used Herdez canned 'penos as I wanted to dupe the whole southern deep fried pickle 'thang. Hit it right on the T-bone ya'll! This one was so easy. Drunk and wearing your pants on your head is not necessarily a "bad" thing. Just adds more to the fun...

Here's some of the usual suspects hamming it up..

Deep fried pickled 'penos ya'll. Lemme' 'splain ya'll Lucy....this stuff should be classed in it's own food group...it's that hella' good!

IMG_1444.jpg

I was eating the DFPP (deepfriedpickledpenos) so fast I almost ran out before taking a pic with the oysters.

'Lawd have mercy ya'll that stuff is good! Deep fried monkey lovin' hotness ya'll!

Salute', TB.

What happened to the piccy's Jay? Damn! Now I have to go all Drunken Chef alone tonight.
Still not sure of the final outcome. I will be doing more chile rings though. Andouille snausage may or may not be involved.

Salute', TB.

JT - the pork lion etc.. meal looks great! I've ate plenty of meals like that.

TB - I dont know what to say. it does look tasty but knowing it oysters I might have to withdraw that comment.

Sorry for the delay. Seems I have come down with some nasty flu/cold like thing. I feel a little better this morning so I plan to get the kitchen rockin a little later this morning and eat all day. I need to get my energy back for work tomorrow. You're supposed to feed a cold right? Nice looking oysters and 'penos TB. Sorry I couldn't be around last night. I promise many pics today to make up for it. Oh and the sides will be beans, greens, and cornbread.

Here's pic #1 the meat (except the wings) on the grill:

Never to early to start grilling right?

Here's the grillin' items after they came off the grill.

Sunday morning breakfast complete with vodky and oj... (I already ate the chicken). More mayhem to come later today. Working on my Fatalii bbq sauce for these ribs. Beans, Greens, Defcon, and Thai wings, as well as lots of booze to come. Stay tuned!

Excellent tribute to meatdom JayT! The cornbread....ah..the cornbread. I can smell it from here!
Where 'da booze at? You got some 'splainin' to do Lucy!

Salute', TB.

Hey ya'll, I enjoyed the deep fried chile rings so much the other eve, I did up a bigger batch for the mayhem. i also used the carrots that were with the 'peno's en escabeche. This was supposed to be more of an appy/side dish (I cooked up some andouille snausages) but these baby's were the real star of the show. Seasoned flour, eggwash, and breadcrumbs. That's it! Simplicity and perfection!

The beginnings of nirvana ya'll...

Paired up with a little Marie's Blue Cheese dressing. Sublime!

I'm going to officially call this stuff......Rio Grande Popcorn!

Get your Drunken Chef on ya'll!

Salute', TB.
