LEFTOVERS!

Read 'em -n- weep~~~

Sound familiar?  Yes, but not the same~
with butter, and the beer on the side-

Not really leftovers, since it's uncooked. NEW AMAZING meal from the ingredients. Looks good.

THAT next to a juicy steak would have been a killer surf & turf!

OK! here we go again!  What's a LEFTOVER????

A'ight-  The Boss maintains that a "leftover" is a previously cooked food item (entrée) that has been (re-heated if necessary) and serve again.  I'm using ingredients that are "Left Over" from what I used yesterday and would otherwise be thrown out...to make today's lunch.

SYMANTICS!!!!  Whatevah!  It's Sunday, I'm Wining after a delicious lunch!  It's ALL GOOD!!!!

And I mean that in the literal sense.... it all tasted good!  That was our breakfast/lunch at about 12:30 today for The Boys, 'hubby and myself.

XOXO to Boss~~~

Damn SL I was complementing your meal LOL, saying that's better than leftovers, it's a new meal. But yes, if I buy a pound of ground beef, and make tacos with 1/2, and burgers the next day, that's not leftovers to me, to answer your question.

Yea, I Know, Boss, and THANK YOU for the compliment.  Semantics.....

It's a good thing......

After some JayT-ing- here's some info regarding "leftovers"-

All this info was gleaned from The Web, which we all know is incredibly reliable and if "it's on the web, it must be true."

Definition- "Leftovers"
-something remaining after the rest has been used.
-food remaining at the end of a meal
-anything remaining or unused portion

We turned in some leftover electrical wire a couple years ago and got some $$.

Yesterday's fried hamburger + cold mashed potaotes + (whateverVeggie)= Shephard's Pie For A Week Night!

Made with Leftover ingredients= leftovers  You can call it Shepherds Pie (and as a Mom, I do that often) But the fact is, the item is made with surplus (aka LEFTOVER) items from a previous dinner/project/etc.

today's dinner included-
surplus shrimp
the better part of a tray of fresh thyme and a half bunch of fresh basil (both of which I purchased for a different purpose.  Anything not used for that Purpose is a Leftover)
Many  other ingredients that were purchased for "other reasons" but not totally used for those purposes.
Butter, white wine, clam base, thyme, basil, shrimp, linguine,

..."not used for original purpose" = "leftovers".

Aw heck, it's the weekend..... fuggetaboutit!!!!!

You're just digging a bigger hole, shepherd's pie is LAMB!

And don't wiki that (who the hell knows what it says), anyone making it with beef, just ask yourself if cows have shepherds.

Why can't we just enjoy the pics here? :)
Didn't mean to start anything.

Even bigger hole... nothing in that statement specifically stated "original purpose". Leftovers, to me, are what was originally [specifically and intentionally] cooked for consumption but not consumed. If raw ingredients were split for multiple meals... raw ingreeds are not considered "leftovers", but rather "fresh-aged" ingredients. Sorry SL, I have to take THP's side on this. But I have to laugh at this all the same.

Is The Drunken Chef supposed to cause headaches?

Think outside the food box.

Surplus pasta, herbs and cream from yesterdays challenge can be used to make a new meal tomorrow.

Surplus wire, breakers, power distribution centers, can be used to make a new service.

According to Webster, both are "leftovers".

You're late SL, we solved it.

In Methow everything in your fridge is leftovers.

no comment about "buying in bulk"-
