glog The Greenman's SPL Crosses reborn glog.

Thanks to Bhuter for prodding me with his pics of my Crosses, I've decided to grow another round for this fall/winter. Barring any disastrous hurricanes, I hope to get the Pepper band back together as it were.
I dropped seeds from 6 of my crosses (plus Datil) yesterday on a heated tray inside my garage/storage room. If the heat tray doesn't cook them, and with any luck, I should have some sprouts in a few days.
In this batch
(BSxHA)xPB (Lolo) F2, F3
(BSxADY)xGC Sunspot F3
BSxAP Aji Sunrise F4
JBxBJB Jabooty F3, Brown
CDNxGC Sungold Habanero F3
And Datil from Pure Plorida

Depending on how these go, I may drop a few more soon.

I have one or two more crosses left to plant.

Another small update...
Harvested a few Sungold Habanero F3s for seed, the flavor was right on, a nice light habanero flavor with a bit more sweetness from the Roxa parentage. The Kratky annuum plants are all flowering now, but no fruit set yet, so I'm trying hand pollinating. Got a few new sprouts from Miscucho Colorado and Aji Arnaucho.

Saturday update.
The kratky annuum plants are kicking in. Slower progress on baccatum and hybrids. Harvested a few new cross fruit.
The small red pods are an interesting mix between baccatum and chinense on this F2. Upright facing pods stay very small and have ridges inherited from the starfish parent. I hope they have viable seeds. Yellow pod is a Hab x Roxa cross, which didn't retain any of the Roxa coloring.

Another update.
More annuums.
And I made myself an electric [emoji219] out of a dollar store electric toothbrush and a paint brush.
Nothing much happening outside because the daily torrential rain completely ruined my fall season start. I have a pitiful tray of 4" plants that were pretty waterlogged for 4 weeks. And started to dry out a bit until it started raining again today. FFS.

I'm getting excited to try the Acoma Pueblo chile (2nd photo above). It's growing well and looks a lot like a Pasilla I grew a few years back which I really liked.

Well I had my first mini harvest.
A couple Sriracha Jalapenos,a Ringleader, and one Acoma Pueblo.
The AP was nice, but not as rich flavored and I had hoped. I still think it will make a nice base for a cross. The Ringleader was a disappointment, it has almost zero heat. I was under the impression that they had some heat for a Jalapeno. Also got fruit set on the Miscucho Colorado. This plant is an absolute beast. Super fast to flower (faster than the jalapenos), flowers like crazy and set fruit right away, like the very first flower to open set fruit. It's the perfect mix of chinense and annuum genes. This plant is a winner. Let's hope the flavor is good too.

Hey strangers prodigal me dropping in to post this season's Bhut x Bird photos.
I went back and grew some older seeds and got the brown color back, however, the shapes are all over the place. Still have some reds and most of them go through a brown phase before turning red when ripe.

Guess I'll update again since things are winding down here for the summer. The dry spring was quite helpful for my crop this year. I had a pretty great season. Temps are shooting up and most of my flowers are aborting now due to the high temps.

Here's a bit of what I had going on so far

Okay I've officially lost my mind.

I'm starting seeds in late May for my October-December season. I'm a big dummy, but I have so many damn seeds I want to grow out. Wish me luck, or at least minimal hurricanes. There is a very high chance that this will be a complete waste of time.
Most of these seeds are from 2016-2018 so germination may be minimal.

Well I didn't make it, the wife is home, peppers aren't dry yet, and the garage is still a toxic cloud. Guess I have to up the heat and hope for the best. There are a bunch of super hots in there so even with the higher heat in the dehydrator this powder should still be super hot.
