*******   MY GROW LIST HAS GONE SO UP IN SMOKE I'M NOT EVEN GOING TO KEEP THE LIST UP   *******
Lots of super hots and lots of unusual crosses... Along with some crossing projects of my own and some base varieties..

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is where the babies were popped

My home made seedling incubator.... :P

This is my makeshift propagation unit that's in my shed.. In case your wondering I purchased a standard 6 shelf adjustable metal shelving unit for $60, painted the MDF shelves in matte white paint ( to help with waterproofing and light reflection) .. I obtained some office fluro double tube light T8 units from a renovation at my work with 5000k 32 watt globes in each slot. and set 4x of them up under each shelf above. I then spaced the shelves at varying heights to allow for different plant progressions and left the top section with no lights as I use it to propagate seeds.

The whole thing is surrounded by a big plastic bag I got from a sofa I purchased and I cut open one side and using another sheet of plastic made a flap to cover the front.

In summer I need to keep the flap open or it gets to hot but in winter its just perfect... I get a steady 35 degrees Celsius on the top propagation shelf and a steady drop down to 20-25 degree's at the bottom..

I can fit plants about 4 inches tall from the pot on the second shelf, 6 inches on the third and about 12 on the fourth and 20 on the bottom, I run them on a 16 on 8 off timer and put a fan on them every few days... and from there, I cycle them out to my small hothouse that gets about 4 hours of direct sunlight and 6 hours of reflected a day. This sits at a cosy 35-40 degrees in summer and 15-20 in winter generally.

****** Photo's and more info to come...*******

I have just planted a whole heap more crosses and varieties... I plan on going through them all over the next few days and locking in my current grow list.. It just keeps exploding out further and further, thanks a lot in part to the great members of THP who share the love .. It's much appreciated..

Thanks.. The last 5 images were from my new camera... The rest were just iPhone 6 images. I did a few HDR pics but I really didn't try to much with them so there a bit off.. I'm in the process of getting a new lens so expect some fantastic macro's, depth of field and HDR shots, In the future the images will be a lot better..

Here's a little special Pepper that's been hiding out the back.. Hope to stabilise this bad boy ... Heat is intense I'd say up there with the current top hitters (It was hotter than my Red Moruga's and Carolina Reapers that I grow but I haven't had a chocolate Moruga or Brazilian Ghost etc. to compare with) with an all over mouth burn that's long lasting , flavour was just great, sweet and fruity with a real true pepper flavour without any  noticeable perfume or floral hit.. Was surprised by how good it tasted. It was a thin walled pepper with a substantial placenta at the base but quiet hollow throughout otherwise.

The plant is done for this season, other than a few tiny pods that went nowhere this was the one and only substantial pod that went to what looks like full size. I probably let it get a little too ripe as I was making sure the seeds were as viable as possible for next seasons F3's ... Just put some seeds in the incubator...

While this pod may not represent future pods in shape it bore an uncanny resemblance to a Oni Mask tattoo design I have and well it sort of named itself from there.. It may change but for now it serves well ...

pro lookin photos
Thanks Juanitos .. I'm struggling with the 3.5 lens I have at nearly a foot of minimum focus , and I've been using a torch for extra light lol.. Once I get a few bits and pieces together I really hope to bring my A game ...

But it's nice to see that my efforts of pod porn is somewhat effective =P

Nice one ... cant wait how the F2 is gonna turnout
Got around 20 seeds from this baby , 12 are in dirt atm and I have my backups in the cupboard.

I'm sure in that 12 I can get my hands on a few furious options =D

I've been looking for peppers similar to mine and the only one I can find that gets close is the Fatalii Gourmet Jigsaw... Usually a little straighter than my pod and more pointed, but similar in size , colour and texture.... Anyone got a first hand on the jigsaw flavour..??

I'm wondering if my cross has produced a similar outcome to the Jigsaw? That being said I don't think I can confirm the official parents of a Jigsaw, and reviews range from Bitter to Sweet and Floral, mine is definitely sweet and fruity without the background fragrances...  So I'm going with mine is unique.. I cant wait to cross it out to its additional parent I have in mind.. hehehehe

Tripod and ring flash! I take macro photos of mushrooms and these are essential tools. Well, the tripod anyway. Then you can even use a flashlight app on your phone, then put the camera on a timer to get the phone light where you need it.

You take some really damn great looking pics. That Yaki Blue is gorgeous! Going on next years grow list for sure

The strains seem to vary a lot... I have seen so many differing pod colours, shapes and sizes along with plant foliage colour.. I'm overwintering this bad boy and planting out more of its seeds too.. I'll try and get you some seeds from both in the coming months when there's more seed available..

Yeah I plan on getting between a 60 - 90 mm lens in the 1.8 - 2.4 macro range, I might  look into either a cool light or maybe mock up a  few reflectors ..

I literally wrap aluminum foil around cardboard for my reflectors. Works like a charm if you have a way to keep them in place where they are needed. Was considering spray painting one side of cardboard glossy white and the other silver reflective, but have not yet tried. I also don't have the money for a ring flash, but have no problem telling other people to buy them, haha. I have the Canon 60mm f/2.8 which is badass. I would suggest the 100mm f/2.8L, but again... money. Your shots already do look nice, but that next level will be even better :)

So here's the sister plant of the Oni ... Definitely grew out to be a different Pheno to its brother, but produced pods of equal quality in my opinion. This one was a bit different on most fronts. Heat was EXTREME well above the ' Oni '... I mean I initially put a slither in my mouth to taste and holy hell... I had lip burn so bad for the next 15 minutes I was shocked.. I even started sucking air to cool them , and that was from a tiny, tiny slice.. The flavour had more of a floral note than the ' Oni ' did and had a slight chemical taste hiding in the background wether from the excess capsaicin or from a parent ..

The pod had a similar total size but in a bulbous shape, the skin texture was slightly more matte in finish but had the same wrinkle on the base. Placenta was more prominent in this pepper and really saturated, it took up most of the pod. I defiantly liked the fruity sweetness of the ' Oni ' better but I really loved the shape of this one.

Once again I hope this grows out in the next generations to hold its shape and heat, if the flavour profile changed to the sweeter end of the scale I would be happy.  But I really hope its heat maintains or increases....

I decided to Codename this one :  ' Hells Rose ', as maybe noticeable in the photos the external lobes of the pepper overlap and splay out creating the look of a rose..

Both the ONI and HELLS ROSE are both from F2 seed so next gens F3 will hopefully have a reasonable chance at finding a comparable strain to continue.
