"Can I Win A Throwdown?"

Woop! You heard it right folks. Everything has to be CANNNED! Canned meat, veg, fruit, fish. EVERYTHING! You have to make your own sauces from CANNED ingredients. Tomatoes, pineapples, hot peppers, yes, all have to be from a CAN! Not your own home canning either, metal cans.

No bottles. No jars. Metal on all sides. Using already made chili and stews is okay too. If it comes in a can you can use it. But why do that when you can make a chili from scratch?

You guys begged for a Spam challenge, well this is going to be as close as you get, and this is more of a challenge.

Dough counts from a tubular package with metal ends because that counts as a can (at least here it does, because bread may be needed for what you want to make) so biscuit dough, pizza dough, etc. as long as they are the can shapes with metal caps.

If you need milk for your recipe it has to be from a can. So buy evaporated milk, or sweetened condensed. If you need oil, buy something packed in oil in a can and recycle the oil. Get it? This is a challenge and everything must be from a can.

Water allowed.

Spices must be from tins (cans). Yes, like the black pepper in the McCormick's tin, and sea sat in a tin, or use a salty liquid from a tin. This is a challenge, after all. Let's see if you CAN do it?

Starts FRIDAY! Anything goes as far as what you make!

Ok, I am in, but for the good of the order, THP, please reconsider the spice deal. I mean, we all have spices, but most are not in tins. Don't make everyone go buy all new spices for a throwdown. Many probably just had to do some for Curry. Spices are expensive.

It's a challenge to use cans, if you want a certain spice, like garlic, buy something infused with garlic in a can and use the liquid, basil, use Italian tomatoes with basil. No more hints from me, but come on, you can do it. No one has to buy spices the challenge is to use a can and many things come spiced.

Ok gotcha, I was just thinking of black pepper, salt, garlic, cayenne, thyme, basil, etc. Things I have, but not in tins. The thing I am making does not use most of that anyway, I was just asking for the masses.

I get you. It's true you may not have salt in a tin, but you may have something salty in a can! NO MORE HINTS LOL.

Och, can ye guess what I'm making

Hehe. DTS I hope you are down for this.

I actually do have salt in a can, but I won't need it for my entry. I have one I have been waiting to do, and this throwdown is perfect for it.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh snapppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppp!

Hmmm I thought you were in on it as excited as you were. Sorry Geeme.
A day later, but let's be honest - this isn't a group that rises to a real challenge. Look how much whining went on for the African TD, and that was no where near as out of people's comfort zone as blue would be. Caught onto that one in less than half a sec, so no apology needed - it was a hoot to play along!

And Scovie, I can't tell you how much I loved that story - YOU DA MAN!

Sure geeme, you know you were fooled. Don't play now.
