Picadillo is ground beef and that is his signature dish, as stated, and the theme is to beat him at it (with any protein and only 1 has to be minced to keep it interesting). Yes, of course, that is his call, it is his signature. Sorry the first post was not clear.

Ah, ok. Thanks for clearing it up.

Ok, I found the old picadillo recipe last night. Got it from my mom who got it from someone else who got it from someone else, and so on. It seems likely that a good half of Houston probably has that recipe. Heck, it might have even come from a post in the Houston Chronicle years and years ago. It's good, but this doesn't mean I'm making it. It just seemed an appropriate time to extricate it from where it was hiding. Which just so happened to be next to the old clam spaghetti recipe. Which, in turn, just so happened to be next to the old chicken asparagus casserole recipe. Mmmmm. Picadillo just so happened to be a good point of reference to all kinds of good stuff.

Well that was great. Sorry to see one did not have a ground beef taco because the tacos he had looked awesome. Well that's another one in the tank. What are we doing for my birthday month of June?
