It's been cold across the eastern US for sure.  17degF in LA is crazy  :surprised:

I spent one night in a tent when the temperature was -25degF.  It was fine but I learned a lesson..... keep those boot INSIDE the sleeping bag at night !!!!!  Daytime temps were anywhere from -5degF to +5degF.  That's pretty warm for snowshoe/backpacking and ended up sweating a lot.... more badness. Great trip but it was cut short because I was with someone that didn't train for it..... she was worn out way too soon.

Hello, another hiker here. I'm planning to go for mountaineering that year.
I live near dolomites that gives incredible sceneries.

I share some photos of 2017:

On left a rappeling test, on right a via ferrata test.

Ferrata Campalani at mount Carega. Short and not much difficult but so fun.

Part of via ferrata Bolver Lugli, that was a long one.

Scree at Sasso di Bosconero. Hard to walk but damn fun!

Mount Pelmo seen from Sasso di Bosconero peak. Sasso di Bosconero is truly an hidden gem, not well known but with a cool, rocky, environment.

Sight of the mighty mount Civetta from Prima Pala di San Lucano.

That's a really special place, very rocky and quite high (50km^2 of a rocky plateau at 2600-2700m from sea level), in winter it's maybe the coldest place of Italy.

Beautiful pics. Shitshow, lol. one of my favorite sayings. Im imaging dogs tangled up, not wanting to move and a wife complaining about the weather, lol.

I'll post pics and all that jive in the morning. I came in first in my class, in my division and sixth overall. 429.2 miles in 24 hours. I wrecked around mile 200 so it was quite a interesting first ultra race.

429.2 miles, first in class, first in division and sixth overall and a wreck around mile 200  I found out after the race that i missed setting a track record for my division and class by 1 mile :mope:   The race started on the sebring speed way for 11 miles then on the open roads until about 5:30 then they directed us back to the track until 6:30  in the morning. 2 dudes got hauled off in ambulances because of there wrecks.  It was a pretty awesome adventure, you learn a lot about yourself suffering and i cant wait till my next ultra race. Anyways some pics.

Right after I finished the race with my parents and wife which did a great joib for pitting for me.
