These came from a farmers market here in Louisiana. Family fungi is the farm name. A bit pricey at $10 for the ammout you see used in my post. But they sure are tasty. Strong umami flavor that shines through even the bbq sauce. I need to learn how to identify honey mushrooms I'm told they grow wild all around my areathat looks great! We do a similar thing with the pith of Honey mushroom stems.. Love that stuff!
That's why I included pictures of the process. The final picture does not look like mushroom at all.If you told me that was peking duck...................... (and I used to live in Chinatown).....
