That's a beautiful Fatalii... Keep it up TPGM... This seasons looking pretty good for you...

Thank you, first year growing these. Really looking forward to them.

First ripening 7 Pod Jonah of 2011 season. Seeds from Tony (BigT). Tony, pods from these plants are 2X - 3X the size of the pods you sent me last year that I took the seeds from. Great plants, great pods. Thanks for the hook up.

My douglah is really starting to set some pods now.

The pimenta de nayda is getting a few small pods.

Brain strains...hopefully starting to ripen any day now

These two chocolates just look gnarly.

Glad those Jonahs worked out Jeremy - that original plant is still kickin' and on it's 3rd year. Another superhot I can barely tolerate, but nice for powder. Great pics, those Chocolate Bhut pods look fantastic.

Just picked my first ripe Jonah of the year. Not even close to the biggest pod on the plant but still respectable.

This is gonna hurt

My first ripening giants of the year. These were the first pods to set on any of my jolokias. They survived all sorts of things...extreme heat, cold, hail, drought, being on the bottom of the plant in complete shade, etc. Just decided to pull them this morning so the plant can focus on some real pods

I think your Jonahs may be a cross.

I've seen Jonahs (pictures at least) that are a lot more bumpy. I meant to ask Tony (BigT) about it but keeps slipping my mind. Are Jonahs supposed to be bumpy? The pods this year look just like the ones BigT sent me last year only they are about 2X - 3X the size. All he had was end of season runts, I just wanted the seeds. Even if it's not a "real" Jonah me likey so far

There's the goods!

Those are about 1/2 the size of what these seeds/plants put out last year. Give it another month and I should have some real jolokias to share :hell:

Thanks for checking out my thread guys, +1 rep all around, high five's for all!

I just tried a Red Bhut for the first time yesterday. I cut up my first ripe pod and ate it fresh with a couple friends from work. I was really surprised by the nice fruity flavor and of course it was :mouthonfire:

So a little more on the Jonah....

The ones here look kind of bumpy: http://www.thehotpepper.com/topic/18952-tonlys-2011-grow-log/page__view__findpost__p__473455. My neighbor is growing some Jonah's and they look like this one too.The one Neil samples in this video http://youtu.be/bUxaoLxAJoA?t=25s (nice pod shot 30 seconds in) looks a lot like the one I'm growing. Maybe there some different looking Jonahs out there?

My first ripening brain strain of the season:

img_4530.jpg

Speaking of the brain strain last night my neighbor and I sampled the 7 Pod Jonah, T Scorp Morouga and the 7 Pod Brain Strain. The Jonah was mine and the T scorp and Brain Strain were from his gardens. His plants are are from the original PepperRidgeFarm seeds, I gave them to earlier this year because I was out of space. The Jonah had a nice heat level. Hot, but I didn't think it was bhut jolokia level heat. The Morouga was a serious step up and felt like someone punched me in the lips. 1/2 hour later we sampled the BS and h*** f****** s*** it was like someone poured a cup of lava down my throat. Serious burn - hands down the hottest pepper I have ever had in my life. I had some of AJ's scorps this year and they were not even close to the heat level of the brain. Not saying it's the hottest pepper out there but it's by far the hottest pepper I have ever tasted.

Main garden shot. Not a great angle. Green fence is 2 feet tall. Plants are loving the temps this week.

Grow on!

Mostly just some runts I'll probably toss. These were basically all the first pods on my plants. Close to the ground and very small. Would not be suprised if some were all black and nasty inside when I cut them open. One thing I like about the bhut jolokias I grow is that even the runts I want to pitch come in at 3 1/2 + inches!

Nice pictures!! Evil looking pods. Do you know what colors the Douglah gets while its getting fully ripe? Does it go straight to brown or first orange/red then brown?
Looks good!

Thanks dude! I believe Douglah goes straight to brown....although this is my first year growing them and none of mine have started to ripen yet.

Plants are looking great man. I have Douglahs growing too and never saw an orange or red phase before brown. Maybe its a red Douglah?

Thanks man, season seems to be shaping up nicely. As far as the douglah...I am anxious to see what the others on my plant do. I swear there's another one right next to the one I posted a picture of that's going straight to brown. I'll post some more updates as these things start ripening. Really curious to see how they turn out. Is there a known "red douglah"?
