Three Day Juice Cleanse

I am prepping right now for what lies ahead. I had quesadillas and a half of a roast beef sub earlier, now I am making two dozen wings. Daytona Race Party tomorrow, then the juicing and healthy diet starts Monday.

I thought you said next week?

Go TS #14 !!!!!

Sorry Jay, I remember you saying healthier eating before your juice cleanse next week...

as you were...

since you have 8 diffrent threads on you and your body,i cant find c.js post where she said she is in. so thats 3 of us? who else is going to do this 3 day fast"of sorts"? after this is a week long beer fast. so get in on this thread of awesome will power!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

for real though i think we should do a one day food fast this week to get our minds ready for the juicy juice fast.

p.s. the beer fast. i cant do that till like the fall season. i would die if i tried to do that within the next few months. ive got to have all kinds of fluids and eat during these work months. probaly best for anyone doing it to be in cooler slower months.

So fellas....we still doing this next week?! I'm in! Not going to juice tho - just fresh produce only.

JT - how has your prep week gone?! Well, I hope!
Sic - have you been prepping too????

I made a veggie pizza...does that count as "prepping"?

I have eaten healthy all week CJ. I ate grilled chicken and salad, soup, salmon, and made a big batch of greens yesterday.

Perfect!!!!

I just had a big ol' bowl of cooked spinach....sans pork product. Weirdly, I loved it!
And my fancy shmancy new apples ROCK! :)

Weird coincidence... I just watched 'Hungry for Change' on Neflix. They talked a lot about juicing, and also mentioned the documentary 'Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead' several times. I have been trying to eat more vegetables, and less things that had parents... I have lost 7 pounds in the last week. I just bought a new wok, so I have been buying fresh veggies, and stir-frying them. There are so many different combinations of flavors that I haven't gotten sick of this particular style of cooking yet. Today I used garlic, ginger, and habaneros for the aromatics, and then added carrots, celery, mushrooms, broccoli, and sweet bell peppers... It was simply delicious.

I have been thinking about buying a juicer, but I am having a hard time justifying the cost, when I enjoy just eating the fresh produce so much. Perhaps it will pay for itself with reduced medical care in the future...

I don't foresee myself giving up meat, but I am trying to minimize it as much as possible in my day to day eating. I am also trying to cut down on processed foods. I have also been watching the TED Talks on food recently [Chew on This]. Jamie Oliver has a great one on there, as well as Mark Bittman. I would highly recommend watching those for motivation.

I might try the Sicman diet before too long though... ;)

If I wasnt pregnant this would sound like a plan. I know some people that juice in the morning have a salad with homemade vingrette dressing with salmon or tuna or grilled chicken on top then for snack a smaller juice and dinner usually is fish or chicken with steamed veggies and whole grain rice. I will do one of these after the babies born. Take some notes for me here please :)

Is that ok? I like all veggies. Just thinking of replacement lunch and/or breakfast. Dinner is easy to eat healthy.

Totally okay....unless you're trying to use a straw! hahahahaha

I just chop my veggies well before I put them in the blender...and have some liquid on hand in case it gets too thick to puree.

I do this alot these days, so here's what I do:
One thing not to do is mix too many fruits. 1 or at max 2 fruits because of the way the stomach digests sugars. Then, keep it simple, and definately only use fruits and stuff that are "in season" if you can, and the natural "mixes' are digested well, and the useful energy is not destroyed by other organs having to process lots of sugar.
recipe 1: 1 apple, 2 bananas, nuts, sprouts (lots of any type i like echelot sprouts, cinnamon powder, vanilla powder, and use tofu of whatever consistancy as a thickener.

recipe 2: carottes, potatoes, nuts, sprouts and hot peppers. Use any potatos, but I like baby potatoes and big giant carrots. Raisons and apples go well here too.

I add ice. Nuts: almonds, pine nuts, peanuts, walnuts ect. Experiment with powders, especially tasty peppers that do well with carrottes and raisons.
I also sometimes add cold pressed oils.
hope that adds a bit of spice to your great idea.

For the potatoes...you put them in raw? or barboiled?

Today's brunch!
