contest Throwdown Smacktalk

hilarious thread...

it seems to me that old age and guile will outshine the ruggedness of youth...you kids ain't got a chance....

I'd steer clear of cane toads, Joey - the skin is toxic. Not sure how deep that goes, but my sense of culinary adventure stops short of wanting to find that out!

It's common knowledge that it is a Hallucinogen, up in cairns and surrounding areas I have seen them put a bit in their durries  .

AlabamaJack - turnin' tail and goin' Crimson! (I'm expecting dinosaur meat in your burgers now!)

PS - very nice video of your back yard - you've got an amazing crop going there!

JayT - too sleepy - yours will be on its way..... don't want any vets to feel left out! ;)

Yet even Keith Richards is on public record as admitting that Phil Keaggy is THE WORLD's top guitarist, and Phil is well-known as a fanatic about practicing. (Heck, he even had a finger he considered "too long" shaved down - that's someone serious about his guitar!) So Keaggy... Richards? Keaggy... Richards? Think we'll stick with Keaggy - thank you very much!

Hmm, maybe we should change this from "vets vs. newbs" to "practicers-with-secret-weapons vs..... whatever"! ;)

Phil Keaggy? Please. Boooooooring. Noone is copping Phil's licks. Vet's go with Jimi and Jimmy. And everyone know's that Muddy Water's invented 'lectricity! Should you have further questions, feel free to call 1 (800) Willie Dixon.

Gasi, Gasi, look what happened since you decided to deny your rookie roots.... tsk tsk tsk....

(Okay, okay, you may need to clear your cache and reload your browser for this one. Technology still only takes us so far!)

Wow, Joey! I like the enthusiasm!

I did not know that but the delivery by the wolf is still some of my fav all time blues tunes.

I totally haven't got a chance, I have been trying hard to think up a great non beef burger that would be worthy and would taste great, be real hot but to be honest I am struggling.

Joey how can you not come up with anything? You have all the meats, poultry, fish, and veggies to use except beef. That is in no way limiting, in fact it the opposite.

I have faith in you. You will do great. Make sure you enter.

Ostrich is on its way - placed the order, just waiting for the arrival! And you??? Does the man with the power on the site also have a power game? ;)
Hmm - just a single crown graces your profile...... :(

There really is such a thing as "too many options" for some people, particularly in areas where there's not a bit of experience - you're not alone in this. I suggest breaking it down - think of one thing at a time, starting with the meat (I'm assuming you're going for meat, based on your earlier posts) - either pick something you're familiar with (recommended for a total newbie to the kitchen), or something new that you personally just want to try, but haven't yet. We'll walk you through this - to a point! Post again when you've decided on a meat. One question you'll need to get answered is whether the meat you will be using is more or less lean - talk to someone at the meat counter, and ask them how lean your chosen meat is compared to say, beef chuck. Some sellers put an indication of the fat content on the package label, but sometimes you have to ask. This will impact what else you need to put into it. Also, if you're going with something off-the-beaten-trail, you'll want to ask if it's gamey at all. If you're not used to gamey food (think venison, for example), you might want to steer clear of it.

You can do this Joey!
