Tonly's 2011 grow log

2010 was my first season of growing anything other than the common jalapenos, serranos, etc. I have big plans for 2011. I'll try to document it here. There are so many top rate gardeners and photographers here that this will pale in comparison.
I have some random pics posted here from 2010: My link

I have my first seeds down and several plants overwintering that I'll take pics of soon. Still working on my grow list for 2011. So many peppers, only so much room.

Thanks Patrick. I just went out and checked. The pods definitely feel very light. I think they are still growing so probably are Jonah. I have other plants from the same seed just no pods yet. Hopefully will end up with both varieties. I was told the seed was saved from 3 Primo pods and 1 Jonah and accidentally mixed. Odds are good that I will have both.

Just a few quick pod pics. These things are getting big. Still not sure if I have Primo or Jonah strain in the 1st 2 pictures here. Pods are getting larger and have a few different shapes on this plant.

The next 2 are from seed saved from a pod labeled only as Yellow Scorpion. It wasn't "superhot" so I think it is probably CARDI strain. Check the size, 4 fingers wide. :woohoo:

Same plant. Slightly smaller but nicer scorpion shape.

Yellow Scorpion SR. Only some of the pods on this plant are wrinkled like this. Some are smooth.

Can hardly wait for these to ripen. :fire:

Took some garden pics today. Time to share. :)

Thanks to Patrick's description about the Primo or Jonah question, I'm pretty sure the plant in dwc is a Jonah. I have a Primo from another source setting pods now and it is quite different from the one in the greenhouse.

These I'm gonna call Jonah:

I have Yellow Scorpions from 3 sources.
Yellow Scorpion SR. This one reminds me alot of yellow 7 pod:

This one is probably a CARDI yellow scorp but wasn't labeled as such:

Another yellow scorp. This one is from Pepperlover:

A shot of the whole plant. I have a few of these going. It was an accidental cross but it's been fun watching them so far.

There are a few more pics from today here: June 20, 2011

Very nice pics.

Its incredible how bushy your plants look.
Wish mine where more like that.

Bleash

Thanks Bleash.

I think the severe aphid infestation earlier this season is at least part of the reason for the bushy plants. The aphids basically topped them for me. Even though I planted 4 to 8 weeks earlier this year, I'm probably that many weeks behind in ripe pod production. Also, I think the pod size is smaller because of this too.

The plants are starting to put all that mess behind them. Looks like I'll have more peppers than I know what to do with. The container growing is new to me and I'm really happy with how they are doing. I have lots of containers so may have to expand on that next year.

Loving the porn man that Primo looks really cool along withe the Douglah, Jonah, Barrackpore .... the list goes on!! :woohoo:

Thanks all for the kind words. :)

The overwintered plants kept me supplied with fresh peppers all winter but now the plants grown from seed this season are way ahead of them in pod production. Not at all what I expected. They just stalled out when I planted them out and haven't really done much since then. Maybe they'll take off soon for a big Fall harvest. The only exceptions are the pubes. They have had quite a few ripe pods and are still going.
