contest Tortilla TD

I am wondering about the ramifications of not making my own Tortillas.
My grandma set the standard for tortillas, and I have never been able to come close to hers.
Given the "Celebrate Tortilla" theme, I was thinking I would need Large Flour, Small Flour, and Small Corn Tortillas.
I'm thinking I'm NOT armed for making all that, but we'll see.
Lucky for me, our grocery store sells real authentic Tortilla's of all kinds, no Reeser's here.

Scovie, if you plan it right, you can pick up fresh made ones at the tortilla machine in Food Pavilion in Wenatchee. I could just sit down with a stack of those fresh torts and eat them hot off the griddle with butter and garlic salt. (maybe that should go in the "I admit it.." thread. )

[sheesh! Now I'm SOOOOOO hungry for a hot stack of torts!!!! I should know better than to post about food when I'm starving~ ]

distill some torts???? What do you have in mind?
I asked wheebz and he said that there isn't enough time for the yeasto-bacilious to begin second phase fermentation, and the masa flour is inert, so the distillation process would be null.

But I'd still vote for you. :)

hwheebz, you can handle putting dried chile pods in a coffee grinder and making pepper powder, right?

And you use whole grains in your brewing all the time, right?

Just pretend that you took the whole grains, put them into the coffee grinder, whizzed them up for a while and PRESTO!

Grain powder! (aka....flour)

It's all in how you look at it!

Nothing to be a-feared of. Hope that helps, buddy~
