contest Tortilla TD

I'd like to see the fool that buys tortillas for a tortilla TD. Ummm a little effort please. Do you know how easy they are? Shall we crown you for going to the supermarket? :)
 
Hey Boss, I say let them bring their stinkin' store boughts as for them to win it would have to be so far out of the box they'd have to be on Mars. For what I'm doing pre-made are worthless. Pretty sure PIC, SL, and SoFLo gon' be scratch makin' and dang tough to beat.

Seriously - basic mex-type tortilla is just water and masa - mix, slap a dab between a couple sheets of parchment/wax paper/whatever, then push/roll it flat. Bottom of a good skillet works, too. No need to buy a tortilla press, unless you just want to. It's more work to make a pie crust - this is easy.
 
I'm pretty sure it was a joke... ain't no one gonna buy the theme ingredient already made.

im definitely not making mine from scratch

anything that requires flour is too far out of my comfort zone

hot dogs, tater tots, wings, burgers, steak sammiches, im golden

but REAL food?

pshhh

thats why I pay people, or just steal it off of their plates when they arent looking

dude take masa and water shape it into a small ball the size of a golfball press it against a plate or skillet and then cook it on high in a skillet for 30 seconds - 1 minute on each side until lightly toasted its that easy and simple
 
Can we do lasagna next month? wheebz can enter a Stouffer's.
 
You know..... "celebrating the tortilla" could use a pre-made one. If there were taco carts all over the place here like there are hotdog carts, I'd consider buying some if they made their own tortillas. I have yet to see anything other than a hotdog cart here, though... maybe I should start a taco cart business....

Well, there are food trucks downtown in the summer, but I have yet to see one of those that makes their own tortillas.
 
Stauffers lasagna is absolutely delicious, and i would bet that you have had it and think the exact same thing
