I won't be weighing mine.

I could weigh myself before and after I go into the yard and eat some pods.;)

But I can't feasably weigh them as I cook with fresh ones every day.

Maybe after my 3 kids move out in.....OH... 17 years or so!

yup...weighing is an option people can do if they want...I probably won't be weighing mine either this year unless it is for packaging to sell dehydrated pods or selling fresh pods by the pound...

I weighed toms from one plant last year and after a while, the only reason I kept doing it was because I already had so much work in it. I won't be doing that this year!

AJ,

Your count seemed low so I went back and added them up. Didn't include my veggies (except toms) and a couple of other people's who were not sure, but I came up with over 2300.

Did you forget to add yours in?

Mike

thats probably because you counted the ones you are raising to sell...this count is keepers only...

peppers only... (check title of thread)

I went back and counted again...close enough, I got 1833 this time..depending on how I guessed if someone gave me a range...and if you add the 380 you are growing to market them, that will be (1833 + 380 = 2213).

let's stick with 1828....k?

AJ,

I counted toms and peppers, so that's probably the difference. Had I counted the ones I'm planning to sell, we would be way, way higher. I'm up to about 1400 and I seem to keep adding more each week.

I'm worried - I'm already using more than a gallon of water a day to keep the soil moist and I still have hundreds of seeds to sow. I can only imagine what it will be like in April when the plants get big - I'll need a 55 gallon drum to hold the water!

Have you considered a tank connected to the house gutters?

If you get good rain fall it could pay itself off over a short period of time.

Might not work if you get below freezing temps in winter.

Just a thought

Update me to 22 plants. Hell, make it 23 cause i'm going to start that piquanero from Iggy once the seed gets here.
