Total Number of Pepper Plants Grown by THP Forum

At the moment it's about 60 plants and seedlings, going to be over 70. But I will give away a few. I will end up with about 35-50 pepper plants.

And I will have about 10-15 tomato plants, a few physalis plants and hopefully a few Goji berry plants.

930 now...and some of the major growers haven't responded yet...like Dale, and most of the down under crowd...

I'm growing 15 at the moment, but i have some more seeds germinating. I'm going to try fit 15 on the balcony this year.....should be a nice green privacy fence. The rest are for friends.

Ok, so I miscounted a bit, I will be planting either 54 or 56 varieties, depending on whether you count the Aji Rojo from different sources as different strains.

Where I'm going to put them all is becoming a difficult question to answer.

Edit: And I will be planting more than one of most of them, or some or several or something.

Cool TCG...Pam, I am going to put you down for say 150? is that about right?

***dithering is ok too***

Oh my AJ, I doubt if I can claim that many, let's just say I will try to plant most of the varieties of seeds I have which is up to nearly 250 but I have to save some room for veggies besides peppers so about 150-200 different peppers plus garden. We are looking at a community plot to grow more veggies and free up our yard for peppers. It's in the planning stages now but sounds like a sure thing. If I had my way I'd plant one of every pepper I have just to keep the seed fresh each year. Smokey has other ideas. Sometimes I have to concede. Our yard just isn't big enough.

will put you down for 175 .... doesn't have to be exact...

total 1345....

AJ you can add me to the list. I'll have 120 pepper plants this summer, 40 different varieties. Maybe more but that is the plan as of now. Need to update my Chileman.org grow list to reflect what I'm growing.

cool Cappy....1465

I have the 7 plants from last year, and probably will end up with 4-6 more new ones after seedling Darwnism....

I'll just say an even dozen...although I'm sure I'll have more once the nursery store has plants to tempt me with. I don't really plan well..lol :)

I'm hoping & planning to grow around 150 chile plants for '09 season.

AJ - all this wondering how many chile plants people are gonna grow, & then remembering you weighing your harvests. makes me wonder how many pounds of chiles would the THP members harvest ?
I think it could be a simple thing to do by just throwing each harvest in a bag & weigh it (dont have to weigh each type, just total weight) & it doesnt have to be precise weights just close enough would work.

really!? I thought everyone had at least a bathroom scale.
I have 3 types of scales - bathroom, a hanging scale, little digital scale (FOR weighing archery arrows/tips!)

I munch on the milder and sweet ones when I'm walking around the yard. Pilange pepper, currant tomato, and a stalk or two of oregano and chives...it's mouth salsa.

***Not even a bathroom scale***

Sometimes I wish I didn't have one either MWM...

up to 1627 now...

CH...the weight thing is not a bad idea, but it would be added work for those planting and the book-keeping would be a nightmare...
