Trippaul Threat (PdN x BMJ) Community Grow

This is a dedicated grow log for Tristen's awesome cross, which I
have been growing out since 2014.  I'll start with a bit of history and
some photos documenting what's happened so far.

In January of 2014, Tristen (Trippa) sent me a little care package of seeds.
In the package were two generations of a cross he had made, which he just
called 'Mystery Cross, F1' and 'Mystery Cross, F2'.

Here's Trippa's Mystery Cross seedlings in February of 2014:

Both generations showing the purple foliage characteristic since the beginning.

Up close look at Trippa's Mystery Crosses, F1 and F2.  Both culled to a single
plant after the photo taken, so I only had one plant of each generation:

Small update people! I've sown a few seeds and I have some small hooks on both varieties!

And luckily, my growing accessories have arrived. So now I can properly germinate some of these bad boys! Now I just need to allocate a space in the house for my plants.. I'm fighting over the laundry room with my SO, haha! Unfortunately, I'll probably lose the battle so I'm already looking for a growing tent of some sorts. Tips are appreciated :)

Let's get this going! Yeah!
Alright, Bernd, glad to see the European part of the grow
is underway!

Are you in an apartment, Bernd?

Space is always an issue, for sure. How long will you have
to keep them indoors?  For the first month or two, I have
the starts on a grow shelf.  After potting up, they go on
tables in the garage under some T5HO lights.  Not perfect,
but they are out of the cold and getting lots of light.
Plant-out sometime in June.

Same here, Paul!

I live in a two-story corner house. It's not small, and definitely not big. But we're short exactly one room, haha!

I'm going to have to keep them indoors until at least June, depending on our luck. By then I hope to have a greenhouse!
Even in summer, our average night temperatures don't really go above 13 C (55 F). So a greenhouse would help me out I think.
What is the temperature in your garage? I have an unused garden shed but it's not insulated.

Alright, purple cotys.   The white pod seed should also
start turning purple soon.

Our average night-time temperatures, even in July and
August, are around 54˚F.  The garage usually stays above
50˚F at night even in the winter.  the heat from the T5HO
lamps helps a lot, as does the enclosed grow shelf I start
the plants on.

Your shed should be okay if it has power for lights and a
small space heater.  When i have plants in the greenhouse
in winter I use a small heater just to keep everything above
45˚F, but I don't use the greenhouse much until April or so,
when it's easier to keep things warm.

Wow. looking good, Dan! Nice, healthy starts

Under my T5HO lights, the cotys turn purple right
away, or in a couple of days max. The stronger the
light, the darker the plants become.

That's good Intel Paul.
I'm trying so hard to keep them under the T5 this yr.

I don't want pods at 40 days like last yr under the hid's

Great looking plants so far...Very glad to be in the f6 stage of this grow.

Welp, my peppers are growing pretty slow compared to yours. Still haven't managed to find a place for them so they're in the windowsill right now. The lack of proper lighting really shows in the slow growth rate unfortunately. I guess this season I'll just have to get by with what I have.

What causes the curl? I have a P Dreadie with curling

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Possible curl can be from to much heat, to close to lights, bugs, and with super hots just rapid excellerated growth.

Over watering can also cause leaf curl.

It will usually sort it self as long as it is not bug or fungus based problem.
