Trippaul Threat (PdN x BMJ) Community Grow

This is a dedicated grow log for Tristen's awesome cross, which I
have been growing out since 2014.  I'll start with a bit of history and
some photos documenting what's happened so far.

In January of 2014, Tristen (Trippa) sent me a little care package of seeds.
In the package were two generations of a cross he had made, which he just
called 'Mystery Cross, F1' and 'Mystery Cross, F2'.

Here's Trippa's Mystery Cross seedlings in February of 2014:

Both generations showing the purple foliage characteristic since the beginning.

Up close look at Trippa's Mystery Crosses, F1 and F2.  Both culled to a single
plant after the photo taken, so I only had one plant of each generation:

Love how as the plant gets taller the stunning coloured foliage really does stand out. I like the dark stems. They seem well at home in your green house Paul and getting good height. You have done a amazing job with this x of Trips. Definite looker.

Thanks, my friend. The PDN X Bonda Ma Jacques
Really likes to stretch out, alright. Once they get
out in the sun this summer, they will really darken
Up. Hopefully, you will get the chance to grow them
next season and see for yourself Sim.

Beautiful plant. Love the stem color.
Thanks, Charles. There isn't much I don't like
about Tristen's amazing cross!

Here's my f5s ... Desperately need potting up and some TLC ...

The f3s are in the same boat ... Needing some love
Thanks, Tristen, hope you will keep us posted
on their progress. I am interested in seeing if
that green F3 produces some yellow pods for
you. It will be interesting to see what happens
In any case - keep it going, my friend! Good
luck getting those potted up and into OW mode!

The F5-1 has set it's first pod! Woot!

Be more than happy to grow one or two of them beautys in a auto pot for you and Tristan, be really interesting to see what kind of pheno/size pods the plant would throw up over here in our climate,

in dirt or pots i dont think we could reach the same height plants as your climate helps with, and also dont think they would go as dark as your plants , obviously its a form of defence against your warmer weather and stronger rays.

Would definately go in the poly tunnel and labelled as a " special " ;)

Our climate is not real favorable  to capsicum species, either,
so you might be surprised.  This cross seems very robust to me.
Anyway, your name is heading the list for seeds!  I'm anxious for
dirt day, but even more eager to see how this all turns out.

Maybe we can call it a GLOBAL grow, lol be good to see it grown across the continents Paul different climates etc, most of the good growers over here use grow tents, poly tunnels, glass houses to extend their seasons. Be great to help you and Tristan stabilize a stunning x.
Exciting times mate.

'Global Grow' sounds good to me

I hope there are people interested in growing out a
few F6 next season.  So far, it seems very stable for
an F5 - three gens of identical purple plants.  Can't
wait to see how the pods develop on the F5's.  The
little pod on the F5-1 looks pretty darn good, now to
see if they stay with the ivory to white colored pods.

:metal: Fun times!

Right, on, bro.  Stay tuned for the Fall harvest!
I love plants that get that kind of height and overall branching. All my chocolate habs always do that. Looks like a great plant all round. Impressed!
The growth habit is nice,  good height without arching over, very upright.

How do they taste?
you use them fresh and dry?
I have ground them to make a great white chili powder - quite hot to my taste.
I think they would make an awesome white salsa, maybe using yellow tomatoes
instead of red. Putting thin rings cut from a fresh pod in a bowl or pot of soup or
chili will heat the dish up nicely and impart some capsicum chinense flavor.

I'll put your name on the list just in case, Matt   ;)

I'd definitely be up for growing one next season
All right, J!    Welcome to the party!

Yeah thanks Paul I could probably commit to one specimen and share back pics and seed.
I'm not even planted out and I'm already thinking about fewer varieties next year lol.  Haha, funny, Matt
Super, Matt!

Holy shit how did I miss this glog!! This is awesome! Great effort!

Glad you like what Tristen has come up with, Anthony!

So I was doing a little research to find out where the Bonda Ma Jacques got its name.
I had to read the French Wikipedia article for Habanero peppers and translate a small section of it about Bonda Ma Jacques. Interesting...

"The Buttocks of Mrs. Jacques"

;)
Haha she's one hot mama!
