Trippaul Threat (PdN x BMJ) Community Grow

This is a dedicated grow log for Tristen's awesome cross, which I
have been growing out since 2014.  I'll start with a bit of history and
some photos documenting what's happened so far.

In January of 2014, Tristen (Trippa) sent me a little care package of seeds.
In the package were two generations of a cross he had made, which he just
called 'Mystery Cross, F1' and 'Mystery Cross, F2'.

Here's Trippa's Mystery Cross seedlings in February of 2014:

Both generations showing the purple foliage characteristic since the beginning.

Up close look at Trippa's Mystery Crosses, F1 and F2.  Both culled to a single
plant after the photo taken, so I only had one plant of each generation:

The runty pods on the F5-1 'White Lightening'  are ripening up.
Color ranges from pale yellow to ivory:

The F5-3 (one of the rooted cuttings) in the
#3 can has produced some pods:

Will try to post some decent 'portraits' of the plants
soon.  Hard to get full plant pics in the locations they are in.

Awesome cross, if u want someone in Kansas to grow a couple seeds out for the Global Grow I would definitely be willing!
You bet, Walchit. I was actually born in Wichita, so
it's a hometown thing!

Thanks, Sim. The F5s in the #3 cans are setting
some nice pods. Here's the pale heart of one of them:

Congrats! Great looking pods, Paul. Nice canopy pic. Plants look nice and healthy. I'm glad things have turned around for you this year. Seeds look mature and viable.

Thanks for sharing.
Thanks, Charles.  This is a pretty robust variety - seems to
tolerate the heat much better than other chinenses, and
has been flowering and setting pods right along.

Thanks for the visit, brother!

Thanx, Sim - be sure to save space in your
Seed collection for some F6!

Sounds like a awesome variety.
No flowers on my end yet. To hot.
That is a beautiful plant.
I hope you are up for growing out some F6
Next season, Charles!

Flowering is sporadic here at the moment, as well.
Just too darn hot. 109 in the back yard yesterday,
112 today. Brrrrrrrrr

F5-2 has been busy:

Awesome work brother !! ... My current f5s are a bit of a bust unfortunately due to our rubbish weather last summer coupled with very average growth under my current lights (not enough heat in the system for the roots) ... Will be attempting something new in the coming weeks to see if I can get some more f5s going again ... Sorry Paul ... Bit of a let down in the southern hemisphere grow of this beauty so far ... The crossing and grow out of the f1s and f2s was the easy part ... You have done the hard yards with the last 3 generations ... Thanks to you it is where it is now

Paul, the plants are looking great. Glad you've got some pods.

The temps have been high all growing season here as well. No flowering taking place on my end. To hot. I did count 10 plants out of 42 that are showing a flower or two. Those are my in ground plants. That's only 25%. Some containers are showing some flowers. Its been in the mid to upper 90's since May. I hope it cools soon. Both of use can be if it from that.

I'll be ready for the F6. It's on my list for next year. I'm cutting down on the varieties next year. 84 of them this year. Way to many to keep track of. I just want to try one of each. LOL!

Well its been good talking with you. I'm praying for cooler temps. Keep up the good work. Great documentation!

Fantastic! I love the color of the unripened pods while soaking up the sun. It's amazing that the color they ripen to is at the opposite end of the spectrum. I love it! You've done great work and continue to impress! Nice work!
Thank you, Adam, it's been a labor of love!  Watching
the color change as the pods is fascinating, alright. I
can't wait to see more ripe pods on them!

Thanks for looking in, my friend!
