Tyler's 2021 Glog

So I couldn't wait any longer and decided to get the mix out set up the seed greenhouse and get a move on 2021. This year is gonna be the earliest I've ever started seeds for the season, so we should have some monsters by the time we plant out around Mothers Day. This year we have a nice variety and we got some science experiments to play with. That will come later on so just wait and see what I have in store. Unless noted I only used 1 cell per variety. We're going to go a full on container grow this year due to the house I currently rent has little to no yardage being in the suburbs, so we'll make due with buckets and fabric pots. I did a few 5 gallon plants before and they always came out beautiful so we shall see what this year brings with a whole bunch of containers. We got seeds from Sandia seeds, Texas hot peppers, white hot peppers, ebay "we'll see what happens lol", some were in storage from 2015/16 and then I got a nice selection of some crosses and the wilds and a few others from the great mega seed train of 2020/21. All the vendors mentioned were great. Shipping was fast even with the pandemic and have no complaints. Ordered double of white habanero from Sandia on accident asked to cancel one and get a extra dragon's breath instead and they said no problem. My order with the double white habanero came, I thought they forgot to switch.. 2 days later a whole other bubble envelope came with a lone package of dragon's breath. They get super props for that and hence this shout out. Sandia seeds was great and their seeds are fairly inexpensive. Check them out.

Happy New Year guys and heres to 2021 let's make it great!

I believe people are referencing the same thing.

Better to use real/scientific names to avoid confusion.

Was the Seed Train seed not labeled with a source?
They could clear up whether it's the same, in reality.

I would think that most of the c. glapagoense seed
around come from accessions or cultivated wild.
The true strain is rare, as they say. I don't know who
are the best sources of true wild seed.

I don't know I wrote it on bag that I put them in but I think I tossed all the empty bags now. Only took enough from train to start a few plants so didn't have any seed left over to save the bags. I'll have to look to see if the emptys were saved or not. I'll ask in the train thread to see if someone can lmk who added them if all else fails.

In other news we got many more sprouts. A few new varieties and them some doubles. We're really cooking with fire now️

Wow, you are rollin' now, Ty!

Into cups already? You will be picking pods
by the time I get outside for plant-out!

Seriously, hope it turns out to be a great
grow for you!

Well it's been just about a month. We have about 60 semi decent small plants or seedlings and about 30 more sprouts. The plants with true leaves have now received 2 doses of some food and they seem to be doing alright. About 3.5-4 months until plant out.

Today I'll give a update on what I actually have going. I counted the seedlings with true leaves already, which is where I got the 60 number from. Today I'll count the sprout transplants. I wanted to give them a couple days in case they wanted to keal over. It seems that they are are going to be trooping along. The yellow Rocoto is the only one I'm a tad bit worried about. Only got one seed to germ out of 6 and then someone the little guy got damaged in the green house, so transplanted with only one cotyledon and kinda falling over. Hoping for the best in that cause I've never grew a Rocoto. Never could get them to germ so this guy will get some special attention for the next couple months. Its about 96 days until they are outside.

In 3.5 to 4 months you are gonna have a small jungle on your hands.  Looking good!

Wow looking good!
Thanks guys! By the time they go outside they are gonna be pretty big I'm guessing. Not gonna neglect but not gonna feed too much or try and get them huge before plant out. Fertilizing probably ever other week at 1/4 to 1/2 strength and we'll see how they come along. Thanks for following! ️

Good start, Ty. Relax for a couple of weeks,
cuz after that your work load is  going to
increase weekly until after plant-out!

I hope you are a victim of your own success

Okay so I finally got around to counting them all. Here is a list of what we have in cups currently. I have a few more still in the greenhouse that I would like to have in cups in the next couple days but we will see. We currently have 83 cups, expecting at least 5 more probably but have 30 or so sprouts in the green house so we'll see if I can stick to 5 or not.

Egads, Ty!

That is a 'Rogue's Gallery' of heat right there!
One of the nastiest lists I've seen.

And a 100+ plant grow? OT2, bro!

Genghis Khan, Death Spiral, Reaper, Bloody Riot, Bleeding Borg, BBX Apocalypse, Bullet Gum, ... that beyond Rogue, I'd say :D

Impressive list, good luck :)

Quick little photo update. They're still alive and well, they've been hit with nutes a few times now but being we have about 2 months conservatively until plant out they haven't been hit these past 2 weeks. I've never let them get this big in cups before so we shall see if that is gonna help them or hurt them come plant out. It sure is becoming a jungle now nevertheless and we can't wait for spring to finally be here!
