Tyler's 2021 Glog

So I couldn't wait any longer and decided to get the mix out set up the seed greenhouse and get a move on 2021. This year is gonna be the earliest I've ever started seeds for the season, so we should have some monsters by the time we plant out around Mothers Day. This year we have a nice variety and we got some science experiments to play with. That will come later on so just wait and see what I have in store. Unless noted I only used 1 cell per variety. We're going to go a full on container grow this year due to the house I currently rent has little to no yardage being in the suburbs, so we'll make due with buckets and fabric pots. I did a few 5 gallon plants before and they always came out beautiful so we shall see what this year brings with a whole bunch of containers. We got seeds from Sandia seeds, Texas hot peppers, white hot peppers, ebay "we'll see what happens lol", some were in storage from 2015/16 and then I got a nice selection of some crosses and the wilds and a few others from the great mega seed train of 2020/21. All the vendors mentioned were great. Shipping was fast even with the pandemic and have no complaints. Ordered double of white habanero from Sandia on accident asked to cancel one and get a extra dragon's breath instead and they said no problem. My order with the double white habanero came, I thought they forgot to switch.. 2 days later a whole other bubble envelope came with a lone package of dragon's breath. They get super props for that and hence this shout out. Sandia seeds was great and their seeds are fairly inexpensive. Check them out.

To respond to this I didn't end up sticking to 5 more.. of course not right?! We probably did about 25 or 30 more a few days after. I haven't done a count recently but definitely have at least 120 plants currently growing with room on the property for about 50-75.

  Of course you did. I knew it. We all knew it.

We all feel your pain.

Not sorry    :D

So we currently have 35 buckets! Realized that most of the area around the house gets little to no sun. Growing in the front of the house and running out of room. I'd like to get another 5-10 in buckets and call it a day, but we shall see. Most of the plants were full of flowers and a couple had some pods on but pulled and picked all of them and transplanted out of the solos to the buckets. We've been above average in Temps for the past week or so. Getting highs in the 80s even hit 90 a few days. I hope everyone is having a good year so far.. Here's to 2021

So we have ceased transplanting into buckets. We have 41 buckets with at least 44 plants. I doubled 3 buckets I think just to see how it goes. I had 4 other plants that I wanted to do so I took over some of the wife's flower bed lol. So 2021 season is a total of 48 plants most I only have one of each with a double here or there. We went with

Bullet gum Red
Arrow con pollo
Bleeding borg 9
Fatalli
Aji cito
Galapognes
Red bhut
Orange bbg7
Dragons breath
Death spiral x2
Yellow borg 9
Yellow Brain Strain
Mustard reaper
Bbgx pumpkin
Peach Ghost Jami
Calipenn reaper
Cgn Cardensi
Red reaper
White Thai
PI 439452
Bbgj Jigsaw
Gehgis Khan Brain
Primotalli
Cap 691
White bhut
Yellow reaper
Bbgx apocalypse

Goat weed
Star Scream
Gator Jigsaw
Yellow rocoto

Okay, you definitely have a grow going, Tyler!
pot-ups look very good.

You shouldn’t be hurting for heat with that list!

Definitely shouldn't have a heat issue got a little bit of all levels. The pods that grew inside I pulled and tasted and they were amazing. They were tiny and green but Definitely a taste of what is to come.

I keep asking the better half if my plants have gotten bigger, she says they have haha but I don't really see it. The CGN Cardenasii has gotten noticeably bigger but has yet to even throw a flower so we'll see if it produces. I think I've read that it's common to have to overwinter to get production.
Has anyone had any luck with super glue isolation technique? I'm gonna try it regardless to at least one of every flower and hope for the best but if anyone has used it feel free to let me know how it turned out.

I decided Friday that I'm no longer going to pull the flowers and gonna just let them ride the wave. Yesterday and today reached close to 90 degrees and they need some water but heres some pictures for your enjoyment.

If you have been pinching flowers off all those,
you have been busy, Tyler. Looks like your grow
Is really ready to take off.

Pinch everyone last one of them for the last 2 months Paul! There was a few that had two dozen or so buds but I pinched them to see if they'd grow better in the long term.
Don't have a control plant of a non "deflowered", But haven't had this extent of a grow in a few years so was a little rambunctious to say the least. We'll see how it all turns out.

The Cardenasii has now reached 3 feet and has yet to throw a bud. The others have a few flowers all around. Like I said in a previous post just gonna let them ride the pepper wave now.

Lots of growth evident since your last pic, Tyler.

I got hit with aphids hard Paul. A few succumbed to the attack but the rest seem to be getting back on track. This year was the worst as of yet in my pepper cultivating years. I hit them with some dawn solution twice so far, hopefully that keeps them at bay.

That was my story last season, Tyler.
I feel confident your plants will survive
to make you proud!

So plants came back a ton more than I expected. I lost 2 maybe 3 due to the aphid attack but now they are extremely big. The c. Cardensi is about 5 1/2 feet tall and everything else is getting close to 3-4'. Everything is now starting to bud and I'm ready for a good season. All the pictures I have won't post without extreme membership. Only let you post 4mb and below I guess. Checked and all my pictures are like 9, 10, and above. So it is what it is. Will post pics of harvests when that time comes. Hopefully everyone is having a good year!

Good to hear that your plants have rebounded
so well. Can’t wait to see your plants when you
get the photo situation squared away.

Well pictures are working now. Like I said earlier plants have gotten huge. Some of the biggest I've ever grown. I know to some of you pros they are kinda small but this is definitely a accomplishment for me! All plants are covered in pods but only have gotten 4 or so ripe peppers so far. Probably all gonna ripen at the same time lol. Whose going to bowers this year?
