I'm looking and re-looking at the entries, but want to point out a couple thoughts for a couple newbies (I hope you see this as helpful, not just for you, but even as a reminder for me, as we three had a similar appearance in one aspect...)

key - Your patty looked really good, but unfortunately, the whole burger looked kind of boring. You needed some more color variety, IMO. Combine that with what I call starch-and-starch (ie - bread and potatoe), and you've got a burger I'm not likely to eat.

mygrassisblue - I have to agree the patty was too big, for me, anyway. Plus I wanted something more than a tomatoe slice on top - like key, the colors just didn't pop for me, but mostly the build came across almost as an afterthought, like you were too focused on the patty so didn't give presentation much thought.

What would I say about mine? Frankly, the same thing about the color variety. When I was getting the ice cream, I didn't realize I wasn't getting the kind where the ice cream itself was green, as I had intended. Plus, because of the timing of the power outage, I didn't have time to either go to the store yet again or colorize the stuff I bought the 2nd time around and still refreeze it. So in terms of appearance, I would say mine looks rather boring, too. Flavor was spot-on, IMO, but the voters don't get to eat them.

And, of course, you both used my nemesis BP….. sigh!

Maybe that's God's way of telling you not to cook?

I like my burgers cooked well done...and even I felt the burn on that one, lol. But seriously...if he did exist...he'd be pulin' up a chair at my dinner table nightly for the best eats in any dimension.

Y'all seem to be mistaking "bravado" and "smartassness" for crying shenanigans. I would never accuse anyone of shenanigans. Ok, maybe Scovie. But mostly not! Really just foolin - I truly don't care if I win or not but it's a lot of fun to participate & even more fun to poke fun at y'all, especially if I'm losing and have nothing better to do.

I hope no one is ever offended by it or takes me too seriously - I certainly don't take myself seriously. I'm just here to do two things...win a crown & chew bubblegum...and apparently uh, it's a good thing I brought lots of bubblegum.

Naw...I think we getcha..I think...

And for the low low price of $4.99 we can make that happen tomorrow night when my site launches!

It's SOOOOO (almost) worth it for the shits-n-giggles factor.

No votes..... oh well, who cares, all good fun, great ideas by all. Starting to plan next weeks, Can't wait ;)

Pumped anyway, scored this off my grandma, now can start mincing and grinding. Bout 50 years old and still working great

It's up there where you vote for my vaggie burger...lol

But seriously...I have a plan for this weekend that is as culturally offensive as it is delicious. If it doesn't get me warned...or even banned...it will bring a crown.

See, if you just stop at "48 hours after voting began", everyone gets to figure out what that means in their respective timezones, daylight savings time or not.... ;)

Big props to geeme for busting out of the box completely. Its a really hard thing to do pastry and to mix in chilli as an ingredient is out of most peoples comfort zones and skill sets.

This Throwdown was, in my opinion, out of a lot of poeples comfort zones and every one shined.

Hey this is pretty close guys!

If you haven't voted please take a look!

Which burger would you dig into right away? VOTE!

Respectable vote not tying it by voting for self!

Yes I'm politic-ing :drooling:

Apparently some one here failed to see the incredible-ness of the Ragin' Cajun Mushroom Swiss Burger with "All Hail Seitan" Bacon

This creation was not about the bread or the perfectly-cooked cajun/herbs/chickpea 'burger'. Nor was it about having a marinated, grilled portabello cap or amazing bacon. It was the combination of flavors and textures.

Yes some out there made amazing bread (loved the Aussie entry - awesome!). Black beans are always a good base for a veggie burger as well. But none had the all-round awesomeness of cajun spices, BACON!!!, grilled 'bella, SrirTarTar creamy spiciness, pickled serranos in place of pickles or a bounty of onions and cilantro from the garden.

Just sayin' - it's about the whole package.

To illustrate this point, I've put together a Ragin Cajun road map below.

And thanks to those who voted for me! Also thanks to everyone who put in some awesome entries. This is a really fun activity.

Go THP!!!
