Plants I missed while watering = unplanned topping?

Dry topping is probably actually pretty hard to time out. A couple plants weren't phased, a couple died, and a couple topped themselves lol.

And harry D, you put yours out first so I can make sure its safe! Lol. The weather has been rough. I need to stake the plants when I put them out this year instead of waiting for them to flop.

My tomatoes went in the ground today.  Targeting the peppers in 2 weeks.

Black night shade?
Sorry I missed that one.

Schwartzbeeren are a little berry that my great grandma used to grow. She was of Volga German decent, and its a berry my ancestors brought from Russia when they immigrated here early 1800's. It tastes somewhere between a tart berry and a tomato.

And just to be clear black nightshade is poisonous, and looks pretty much just like this, so don't eat any "wild" schwartzbeeren if you find them. I think schwartzbeeren might be poisonous while green.

Great grandma used to make these things called "gafilda" I'm sure that is spelled wrong. I can't find a recipe where they use that name, but I did find one that is the same thing called by a different name. They are probably an acquired taste, cause I do remember them being kinda weird. They are like a noodle pocket, with filling made from the berries, you eat them in a bowl of melted butter and heavy cream. Talking about them makes me want one really bad. Its been probably 10-15 years since I've had one, and I can almost taste them when I think about it. Lol

I didn't get many berries last year because I had these bugs destroy the plants.

Here are some shelf shots. I might drag everything outside today

This is no indication of which light is better, cause the plants have been moved around to be close to plants of the same size. But the shop light plants have been in the same spot most of their lives. Wal-Mart Led shop lights are definitely sufficient for starting your plants.

Thanks for stopping by!

And Harry, I'm probably gonna start hardening off today. Probably plant the tomatoes as soon as I think they can handle it. They are in 72 cell trays, so they won't be fun to water outside.

Then I'm gonna start popping these peppers in the ground, gonna be a busy month(or2)

Devv, I thought about you when I heard there were tornadoes down there. Glad to hear they missed you! I've never seen a tornado, and I pray to God I never do. I remember these microburst things that tore down a barn down the road from my farm. Scary shit.

Andy...

Dude! That is insanity! That group shot is mind boggling! Just watering all that has to be quite the job! I don't think I've asked you yet but are you keeping every one of those plants? Plant out has got to take atleast a full hard days work. I've been trying to think of a way to double deck some tables and lights next year I really like your setup. How are you liking the 5050 LEDs or shop lights for that matter, obviously they're working just fine. I'm kind of on the fence with finding some older cheaper T5s or going LED next year, any thoughts?

I hope hardening off and plant out go smooth for you! It's making my back hurt just thinking about what is going to go into making that happen  Looking forward to seeing all those plants outside

Thanks Buddy,

I've seen 3, and 2 were less than 2 miles from the house. I was driving home to check on the place and turned onto our road, looked up and everything was spinning, turned around and hit the gas! The sirens were going off when I got back into town (about 4-5 miles). That stuff is scary shit!

Good luck with plant out!
