Miami ain't what it used to be. I had a lot of family down there. They all moved North. Hanging lanterns down the wall behind the Herald and netting jumbo shrimp. Heck....I spent a lot of time on the pier before the hurricane took it out. My uncles would never take me to their Snook hot spots at 3 am on high tide. Catching pelchers with ribbons and rings until the macks ran through. Gimme some macs with maple syrup on the smoker and I was in heaven. Dollar beers on pier until the run.....Heck...I used to take the bus to the pier with all my gear. Then we would set up buckets in a round pyramid so the water would flow down and aerate. Load the up with pelchers and wait for the run. Then is was hook and pelcher...no lead needed. Let umm run and set. Someone always had your back to net and get them up on the pier.
